Chapter Three

[Your POV]

You became maybe too exhausted. Mikasa, Krista, and Annie were just now settling in their beds. With your eyes almost shutting heavily while you laid in your bed. Realizing dinner will be soon. And that you needed some air.

Wait.. This is not the time for sleep..!

You rose out of bed, about to reach the door. You halted at the yell.

"Hey! Where are you going so late?!"

Krista called out.

"Do you really have to be that loud, Krista?"

Annie said in annoyance, rolling her eyes.

You turned over to them, Mikasa lying on her bed which was on top of Annie's, Krista exchanging looks with Annie.

"Sorry.."

Krista mumbled.

"Yea.. I'm just gonna catch some fresh air. I'll be back in a few."

You said then walked out, going outside.

There were a group of boys. Only two that you had recognized, Bertholdt and Reiner. One had most of his head shaved, another with two layers, blonde hair coating the brown and one that had dark brown hair.

Bertholdt looked up at you then to gesture you to come. His hand was pulled away by Reiner, shaking his head no then looked at me. Putting your hands in your pockets, you walked the different direction. Though Bertholdt looked away and listened to their conversation.

It was okay though, you just wanted to be alone for some silence.

You arrived to a patch of grass, not too far from your dorm or the messhall. You lied down, sighing in relaxation.

You looked up at the magenta sky, leaving your hands on the back of your head.

Or as it seemed to be alone, you could hear someone call out to you.

Sitting up and looking in the direction.

It was Bertholdt.

Getting up, you looked at him directly.

"What happened?"

You asked, curiously.

He walked over to you.

"You seemed kind of sad. So I thought I'd check on you as I crept awa-"

"BERTHOLDT!!"

A yell in anger that attracted our attnetion.

"Reiner slow down!"

Another called out.

We could already see the group running to Bertholdt and me, trying to stop Reiner.

"THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?! DON'T WALK AWAY LIKE THAT!!!"

Reiner yelled, making Bertholdt back up.

I looked at Bertholdt then Reiner. The others were just now catching up, pulling him back.

"Calm down Reiner!"

The shaved head boy yelled, trying to pull him back with the others.

"LIKE HELL I WILL! HE CAN'T TAKE OFF LIKE THAT!!"

Reiner yelled.

You found yourself quite scared for Bertholdt.

He sounds like a mother once finding her child. You thought to yourself.

"REINER I'M FINE! I CAN TAKE CARE OF MYSELF!!"

Bertholdt shouted in anger.

You jumped, feeling not too safe. You knew what was gonna happen.

Reiner growled in anger.

You kept watching, not knowing what to do.

Reiner then made them let go, walking to Bertholdt.

You came between the two of them, guarding Bertholdt.

"Just leave him alone! Why are you so over protective with him?! It's not like he'll get killed!"

You shouted, Reiner looked at you in your eyes, furrowing his eyebrows.

"Look, your girlfriend is standing up for you.. Pathetic."

Reiner took a glance at him then walked away.

You looked at the other three, shocked.

You looked at Bertholdt who seemed to blush.

"I-I'm sorry, (y/n). Let me speak next time.. To Reiner."

He looked at you, carefully.

"Bert..-"

He already took off, looking at the ground.

You looked at the others, motioning them to follow Bertholdt.

They nodded and ran after Bertholdt.

Sighing, you followed behind them.
