Once I was in the uniform, Hikaru and Kaoru stood over me, scrubbing off my eyeliner, pulling my hair into the wig, forcing my colored contacts out of my eyes, and finally standing back to admire my look.
"You look just like a host!" Hunny giggled from Mori's shoulders, who was nodding in agreement.
"All of you are at least twice my size," I whined, scratching at the collar of the uniform.
"Quit your whining," Tamaki ordered excitedly, dancing around the room with an imaginary woman. "All you need to do is socialize with the guests, dance when asked, help with cleanup, and anything else we decide to ask of you."
"You get the key at the end of the night," Kyoya added.
It was suprisingly simple, I had expected so much worse. Nonetheless, I didn't think I had it in me to be a host for a night.
We made our way to the ballroom, Hunny dragging me by the arm. The big double doors opened, and all eyes came to us, or more specifically, me.
Everything sparkled, from the huge chandelier to the elegant glasses. The floor was so shiny I could see my reflection in it. The opposite wall opened to a balcony overlooking the school yard and fountain. That was all I could see before I was bombarded with a group of girls.
"A new host!" they all squealed, toying with my sleeves, wig, and tie. "What's your name? You're so cute! Where did you transfer from?"
"Jeez," I muttered. "Lose all manners when a boy is around, huh?" They all stared blankly before a brown haired girl fainted.
"Wow!" they shrieked, even louder than before. "You're not afraid to speak your mind, that's so cool!"
I shrugged them off, making my way to the food, as I had hardly eaten since I had arrived in the anime world. Haruhi was kind enough to let me stay with her. It made me feel better knowing another girl was in the host club.
I was almost choking on cream puffs when Tamaki grabbed my arm. "Lillianna," he whispered. "You aren't supposed to be eating those, they are for the guests."
"Oh, my bad," I said, spewing bits of cream puff onto the ground. I popped one last puff into my mouth before making my way to the balcony. I was stopped by the group of girls again.
"Will you dance with me?" A girl asked, getting toppled over when another girl begged I dance with her instead. The ladies fought for several seconds.
"Ladies please!" I groaned, rubbing my temples. "My night would go much faster if you would act like civilized beings!" They swooned again. I rolled my eyes, taking one girl still standing by the hand.
We danced the waltz, not getting too close. I feared she would discover my boobs, despite them being hidden under a binder. I stepped on her feet time and time again, and she kept blushing and saying it was okay.
The rest of the night went smoothly. I actually started to enjoy myself, that is, until Hikaru and Kaoru grabbed my arms and carried me to the top of the stairs with the rest of the hosts.
"May I have your attention please!" Tamaki called loudly, getting everyone's attention. "We have a special suprise this time! One lucky lady gets a kiss on the cheek from our newest host!"
I about shit myself. All girls screamed, losing their minds.
"Settle down, my beauties," Tamaki cooed. "If you all would be so kind as to look on the bottom of your glasses."
A hundred glasses were raised, the desperaste girls looking for whatever it was to be found.
"The winning glass is the one with the pink heart on the-" Tamaki was interrupted by a piercing scream.
"That's me!" The dark haired girl squealed.
I started to sweat. This sounded familiar...
"Excellent!" Tamaki said, clapping his hands and gesturing to the bottom of the stairs. "Please stand there!"
I looked at the other hosts nervously, and saw one of the twins eating a banana. That's it! They did this to Haruhi! They want me to slip on that banana peel and kiss the girl on the lips! Psh, absolutely not. I'll step over it. Anime logic...
I made my way to the girl, going around the peel and feeling like I would be okay. I leaned in to give the girl a kiss before I was shoved really hard into her. She turned in shock and our lips met.
Fuck.
I glared up at Hikaru, who smirked and bounded away. To make things worse, the binder had snapped and the wig was on the ground. The girl gasped and wiped her lips like crazy, screaming.
"A girl!" She cried. "I just kissed a girl!"
Everyone stared in shock, and all chaos was loose. Everyone ran for the doors, squeezing through to get away from the girl host. I shrugged, pulling the binder out of my shirt.
"Could not have gone any better," Hikaru laughed so hard, he had to hold himself up on the rail of the stairs. Mori nodded in agreement again.
"I hate you guys," I said, getting teary eyed.
"At least your work will not go unrewarded," Tamaki said, leaning down to give me the key. "You've earned it."
"Thank you!" I said, giving them all hugs. "It was so great meeting you guys! I used to watch you all the time!"
They gawked back at me, watching me try to make the statement not sound creepy. They got weirded out, walking away.
Haruhi stayed, looking me over. "You're... sparkling," she said, pointing. I looked down at my hands.
"I guess its time for me to go back," I said, giving her a hug.
"It was fun," she said, smiling warmly. "See you again sometime?"
"You bet," I said, waving before everything went dark.
...
I was back in the abyss, in front of the box. I looked down at the key. It was a shimmering gold, with a pink "A" inside an "O".
"Ouran Academy," I whispered, pushing the key into the box.
"Congratulations on your first key," the voice said. "Ready for your next?"
"Bring it on," I said bravely, bracing myself for the light.
