"You're almost there! Just one more push!" I did what I was told and the moment i did an ear piercing scream filled the air followed by the joyful shrieking laughter of my sister. I hadn't heard it in so long, i had almost forgotten what it sounded like.

"Oh my god..." I whispered breathlessly as I gaped at the child in front of me. She looked as though she did not belong here. She had no burns on her skin, no enormous tumors bulging from her body. She was quite possibly the embodiment of utter perfection.  "She's beautiful." I smiled and let my head fall back down onto the scorching sand below.

"Tori, you know what needs to be done." My sister walked over to me and held my child closer to me.  "The wasteland is no place for a child. Not one like her." she shook her head and peered down at my baby. I knew i had to give her up. I'd realized that the moment i saw her. She'd get nothing but hate and pain from everyone and everything down here.

I nodded and turned my head away from both my sister and daughter as they began slowly making their way to the rising platform that would take my daughter far, far away from me. "

**3rd person**
The signal had been given and the platform began slowly rising up. All of the wretched were tossed effortlessly from the large slab of rusted metal and rotting wood: until a woman nimbly made her way through the crowd holding a bare infant close to her chest. "Wait!" She cried. one of the few war boys in charge held up his hand and the elevator came to a halt. the child had no scarring or burns of any kind. and from what could be seen she was a female.

"Why did you bring her?" he questioned the woman in a commanding tone.

"She's perfect! She'll make a fine wife someday! Please take her!" She pleaded while thrusting the child closer to him. After thinking for a moment he grabbed the child and gave the signal to keep going. The woman seemed to be greatly relieved when he took the infant. the war boy looked down at her, the woman was right. She was damn near perfect, shiny  hazel coloured eyes, a tiny bit of frizzy hair on the top of her hair and skin that looked to have already been tinted by the sun It's rare a child like this is born in the world, let alone willingly given up.

the young war boy walked into the immortans dwelling and cleared his throat as he entered the room. Immortan acknowledged his presence but did not turn around. before he could get a word in the baby he held in his arms began to whine yet again. No doubt because of the war boys lack of caring to try and hold her correctly.

"Why have you brought a child to the Citadel?" Immortan spoke with a chillingly calm tone and kept his gaze away from the infant and his war boy.

"She was given up. She has no defects, figured you'd want her. she'd make a fine wife someday." He stood in his spot for a moment longer before turning around and looking at the child from a distance.

"Take her to Miss Giddy." he turned back around and said nothing more. The bald headed boy nodded and left Immortan to his business. When he arrived at the vault he could tell Miss Giddy was not happy about his intrusion but she could hardly be bothered by him when she saw what was in his arms. She carefully took the baby from him and felt relieved to no longer have the child in his arms. The girls all watched as the boy left the room before getting up and running to where Miss Giddy stood.

"Miss Giddy?" Capable tugged on the rags of Miss Giddy's dress and she looked down at the fiery haired girl.

"Yes, dear?" she said with a bright smile as she rocked the newborn back and forth in her arms.

"Would it be alright if i named her?" Miss Giddy nodded and bent down to her level so that Capable and the rest of the girls could see her.

"What would you like to call her?" Capable looked down at the little girl with a wide smile on her face as she thought about all of the possible names. several came to mind but only one stuck. Every time Capable looked at her, her eyes were drawn to the baby's. They looked as though she had shiny glass covering them which made her look as though she were constantly about to cry.

"Her name is Glass."
