A Country Romance

Chapter 7

The next few weeks have really been uneventful, everything was like how a normal person's life should be. The only thing was, it started to get boring. Ever since our date Jackson has been acting funny but I think he just has a lot of things on his mind like family and work and things like that or atleast that was what he told me so it is fine. Today was different though because apparently a new guy was going to come work and he will be my new partner and Jackson is going to work with Zack, an older worker here. Ever since my interaction with Noah that one day, everything came back to me but I'm not as nervous around guys, now I have something worse to worry about, Noah finding me and having a repeat of a couple years ago. I got called to the boss' office and I was met with a catastrophy. If only that was what he looked like. He looked like another greek god. He had brown curly hair and deep brown eyes that look almost black and are gorgeous. He, unlike Jackson, was very tan as if he lived at the beach and a tribal tattoo was on his right arm. He was also a lot more muscular than Jackson but I could never like him like that since I think I am finally in love with Jackson. I mean he did save me from one of my worst aspects in life that was my parents. He also helped me get through the nights when all of that happened. The boss told him just to stay with me and watch what to do. He agreed and looking at my schedule it said to groom the horses and take them on a walk to the waterfall like usual. Just talking to him seemed so easy and I found out his name was Jake. We quickly became good friends. Jackson wasn't very happy finding out about the new partners but I assured him it would be fine but all day he has been sending Jake dirty looks, and the weird thing is, Jake has also been sending Jackson dirty looks also. It was really quiet until Jake started talking out of nowhere.
"So, that guy over there, is he your boyfriend?" He asks and mumbles something along lord I hope not. But I'm probably looking too much into that.
"Yeah, we have been dating about a month now. Why?" I ask in pure curiosity.
"Oh well I think you should know that..." He gets cut off by Jackson.
" Hey!" He shouts over Jake, " How, is everything going"
"It was going great, I was just about to tell her about...." Jake said but once again got cut off.
" She doesn't need to know that it's funny but stupid she won't find it as amusing as I did." Jackson said.
" Well I want to know." I said, " I might find it funny, you don't know that." I finish and wait to be told this joke that they guys are arguing about.
" HE CHEATED!" Jake said.
" See I told you it wasn't a funny JOKE." Jackson said laughing weirdly.
" Yea Jake, that wasn't very funny." I said walking off back to work.
Both the guys looked at me weirdly and I was kinda getting self conscious since they just kept staring at me with that face. I turned around and started to get to work again and I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turn around about to smile at Jackson but it wasn't Jackson's hand, it was Jake's.
"It wasn't just a joke." was all he said and he turned on his heels and walk off. Okay? That wasn't weird at all, was all I could think.
After about three more hours of working Jackson came over to get me and he took me out to dinner. I wasn't very focused on what he was saying because I kept thinking about his birthday that is coming up in about two days. He told me on our date and I think he forgot he told me. I plan on surprising him at his house with a day out and we could go to the waterfall and have fun there but I haven't decided yet and for his birthday present I plan on making love with him.
"Hello, earth to Adrian" He said laughing and waving a hand in front of my face. I could feel the blush rising onto my cheeks.
"I was asking what are you doing tomorrow?" he says with a smile.
"I have to work overtime tomorrow and the next day for a little extra money." I say with a wink.
He just smiles and says "Okay great, you deserve a little extra to spend on you."
