Inside the tent, I layed awake. Ashton was past out beside me, his arm wrapped tight around my waist.
I couldn't help but keep my eyes open, in fear of the nightmares that would wash over me if I closed them.
I took in a deep breath, the cold air filling my lungs, goosebumps spread up my arms as a breeze picked up, causing me to tense up. I felt my heart thumping against my chest, butterflies swarming in my stomach. That's when I heard her.
"I miss him............H-He's mine."
It was so faint, but yet it sounded sad, and muffled as if it had been crying. I sat myself up, waking Ashton. He rubbed his eyes and looked at me curiously. "Are you ok, Meg?" He asked, worry in his voice.
I felt the color fade from my face as I felt a cool hand brush across my arm, sending my heart into a race. I took in a deep breath as fear took over. I couldn't move, and I couldn't speak. Ashton stared at me, holding my hand in his. It was only a second, but I caught a tiny glimpse of the top of her face.
Cold blue eyes, pail skin, kind of bruised looking, Ratted blonde hair and long dark lashes. That was what I saw before she faded away, the breeze slowing down a bit. I turned to look at Ashton, who was concentrated on my face.
"I saw her." I said, then blacked out.
