I looked blankly at the spot were the body once laid, were had it gone? The voice, it sounded.....but it couldn't. Them...Elle and Ashton...they were gone. I felt a hand grasp my shoulder, and goosebumps spread up my arms and legs."Meg, are you allright?" It asked again. I turned my head and looked up at the man.
My eyes stared at him bewildered. "Wha_No...way..."My voice stuttered, I felt my heart pound in my chest. Ashton, he stood in front of me, his eyes staring deep into mine. They weren't emotionless, but warm, filled with love, and worry. He was worried for me. It made me want to burst out crying, and I did.
He immediately threw his arms around me reassuringly. I burried my face in the crook of his neck. Is this real? Will he vanish? I clinged on to him, never wanting to let go. His warm breath soothed the panic built up inside me. "What's wrong, you look like you just saw a ghost?" He said, a slight chuckle at the end.
I pulled away and looked at him. He brought his finger up to brush the warm tear off my cheek. "Ashton, lets get out of here." I said, was this all a dream? Or was it a vision? Either way, I'm not staying one more night here. I expected Ashton to try to put up a fight, but he didn't. He just shook his head yes, stood up, and extended his hand out to me.
I took it and he pulled me up to him. "Cmon, lets go home." He said, and I followed him over to the red truck of his. A cool wave of wind hit my face, and I turned my head just a bit. I saw Elle, hovering above the lake, staring at me with intense eyes. She gave me a smirk, then left me with a "Ill see you soon" smirk.
I quickly turned back to Ashton,got in the truck, and drove away from this cursed lake.
