Alejandro's :
My heart was sinking with passing minute, Jaydon and I got the as soon as we landed, we didn't even cancel the meeting, We ran towards the front desk and got tickets back home. It had to be the longest two hours of my life, I couldn't control myself. I needed to know Ariana, the baby, and Julie were okay.
The taxi guy stopped the car in front of the emergency entrance. Jaydon gave the man the money and we both ran inside the hospital. My parents, Jaydons, and Julie's all sat int he waiting room crying their eyes out. When Xavier saw me he just shook his head at me.
In that moment i knew, someone had died.
"Who?" I asked them. "Who died?" My voice cracked.
Xavier looked at me. "Ariana she died before they could arrive at the hospital," He trailed off.
I didnt know what to do after he said that, my mind was spinning in cirlces. Ariana had died and if she died so did our baby girl. I felt my chest heavy as if something was laying on top of it. This couldnt be happening, not again.
Jaydon had tears rolling down his eyes. "What about Juliana and the baby, are they dead too?" His voice shook.
"She's in a critical condition, the doctors say she won't make it passed the night." Xavier whispered. "The baby she's fine, they were able to save her." He looked at me. "She's okay,"
"Where is she?"
Linda stood up from her seat next to Xavier. "I'll take you to her," Her eyes were swollen and red. Everyone's eyes were like that.
As we walked away from them I heard Jaydon cry, he fell onto the chair and cried his eyes out. my mind hadn't processed everything. I still couldn't understand what had happened or why it happened. I was in a complete shock.
We walked down a hall towards the newborn section, we stopped behind a glass window. Linda pointed to the small red-head baby wrapped up in a white blanket. She was sleeping so peacefully in her cube. I placed my fingers on the glass wanting to be able to touch her.
"The doctors say Ariana died because she saved the baby, she wasn't strong enough for both of them to survive," Linda whispered. "She died trying to protect her,"
I covered my mouth as i felt myself getting overwhelmed. Sobs were escaping my mouth and before i could control myself, I was breaking apart. I felt horrible, Ariana was dead, how was i suppose to take care of the baby now? I couldn't do it without her, we were a team.
I slid down on the cold wall to the floor. This had to be a bad dream, a nightmare, and soon i would wake up. Ariana will be in her room sleeping peacefully. Linda squats down taking hold of my hands, she was crying with me.
"You have to be strong, for the baby. She's all you have now."
"I didn't want any of this to happen Linda, I might not have loved Ariana but I never wanted her to die," I sobbed. "How am I suppose to take care of a baby, I can't do it without her,"
"You won't be alone," She told me. "You have me and Xavier, and her parents, everyone is going to help you," She assured me.
She wrapped her ar,s around me giving me a tight hug. I dug my face in her shirt crying harder. If Julie didn't survive this then I wouldn't be able to live. She meant the world to me all three of them do, and I never wanted anything bad to happen to them. I know it's out of our reach but they didn't deserve this.
Linda and i stayed in the hallway for awhile, she let me cry until i couldn't cry anymore. She let me vent every emotion that was running through my body. When we did return back to the waiting room Jaydon was stepping out of the metal doors.
