Xavier shoved me playfully as I dropped my bags on the floor. After living a year in the freshman dorm in the universities, I finally was able to come live in with Xavier and Linda. I wasn’t really happy about it but after mom had baby Adrian, I rather be with Xavier than a crying baby.
“Tell me again why she had to come live with us?” Xavier teased me, asking Linda.
Linda glared at him, pushing him out of her way. “Julie came to live with us because we said it would be fun, now if you don’t have anything good to say about it, keep your mouth shut.” She snapped at him, giving him a sly smirk.
Not much has happened since I confessed to Alejandro I was in love with him. After my mom got married again, he went back to Arianna. A couple months later they moved back and they have a condo together. I see him every now and then when we bump into each other at the campus, other than that he likes the attention I give him when he ignores me.
Now I understood why he had anger fits with me, it’s a pain in the ass trying to make him love me back. We know we love each other but he says he wants me to beg for him, but he seemed to forget who I was. Just because we weren’t in any game anymore, I still had games up my sleeve.
“Ale needs to stop being an ass and let you move in with him.” Xavier said, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I snarled at him. “He lives with Arianna, and what makes you think I want to move in with him?”
Linda smacked him upside the head. “Ale loves her, but he wants to play hard to get, when Julie gets tired of chasing him that’s when he’ll want her,” She defended me. She grabbed my bags and threw them at Xavier. “Now stop instigating and put these in her room!” She ordered him.
Xavier rolled his eyes doing what he was told. Linda and him moved in last year, Xavier decided to do the next step in his life and move in with a girl. The girls just happened to be Linda, and from what he told me he was in love with her. Honestly looking back at everything, I was proud of him. He finally found someone he wanted to fight for. Linda was perfect for him, because her smart-ness and his playfulness somehow balanced each other out.
She sat next to be by the stairs, giving me a warmful smile. “He’ll eventually come around, Alejandro, he’ll stop playing these teasing games and he’ll make you happy.” She reassured me.
This was what made me laugh, I wasn’t sad that Ale wasn’t paying attention, or if he didn’t live with me. He was happy and that’s all I cared. Sometimes I hate to see him with the red-headed bimbo but he smiles, and laughs like he never did with me.
“Eventually, he will,” I said standing up. “I’ll go set up, thank you by the way,” I told her as I walked up the stairs.
Xavier was standing at the end of the hall, he was closing the wooden door behind him as I made my way towards him. He wiggled his eyebrows at me when he saw me.
“You don’t look happy,” He said quietly.
“I’m tired, and for the first time in years I feel as if I am at home.” I spoke out truthfully.
I couldn’t remember the last time I felt safe and at home. The past three years I been all over, Spain and home, over and over, it only made me feel as if I didn’t have a home. So being here in a calm, quiet house it made things comfortable for me.
Xavier gave me a bear hug, kissing me on my forehead. “I can take care of you again.” He smiled proudly to himself.
I rolled my eyes at him. “You should take care of Linda.” I murmured, closing my eyes.
