Chapter Twenty Four
Your mine, not Ashton's.
His words had left an circling trance in my thoughts.
Your mine, not Ashton's.
His lips left a complete imprint on me. My own lips tingling at the memory.
Not Ashton's.
I'm his woman. His girlfriend. His good girl.
Your mine...
How does he get I'm his when I'm with Ashton.
Lyubov
What the hell does that even mean? Stupid russian man and his stupid russian talk.
"Babe what do you think?" Ashton asked, eyeing himself in the mirror.
"What?" I blinked at him.
"Aren't you paying attention?" He scoffed.
"I'm sorry I was lost in my own mind." I mumbled, glancing down at my intwined hands.
"What do you think of this tie? It sends a good message about me." He stared at me, a scowl on his lips.
"I think it's perfect." I forced a sweet smile.
"What's wrong with you?" Ashton questioned, "Ever since our little fuss you've been acting weird."
"Nothing." I lied.
Ashton rolled his eyes, "Well get ready, because were about to go on stage."
I nodded, faking a smile. I relaxed in the chair, as the hair stylist and make up artist finished my look.
"Five minutes people!" The stage director yelled. "Ashton, Lyrical! Get ready!"
I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat. Ashton straightened his suit, and stood straighter. I myself straightened my composure, readying myself for a bash of questions.
"Your on." The stage director signaled us both on stage.
"Remember what we went over or you won't like the consequence." Ashton warned.
I nodded, letting him pull me forward. The lights landed on us as we walked on set. I planted a rehearsed smile on my face, my arm grasping Ashton's biceps. The lights blinded me for a moment, blinking smoothly so I could see. I heard the audience applause. They were possibly hundreds of people seated behind the cameras.
"Welcome back Mr. Garret." The host grinned, welcoming.
Ashton gave a charming smile, "Please Kelly, call me Ashton. Mr. Garrett is my uncle."
Ashton chuckled and Kelly laughed. We took our seats on the tasteful looking sofa.
"So Ashton, you have snatched yourself a mighty fine woman." Kelly smiled at us.
Ashton looked adoringly at me, taking my hand. The forced smile never leaving my face. I meet Ashton's glaze.
"Yes," He grinned "I'm very lucky to have her at my side."
"Tell us, how did you two meet?" Kelly's eyes never leaving Ashton.
Ashton chuckled and a blush crept up on my face.
"It was all arranged by my uncle." Ashton patted my leg.
Kelly's eyes lite, landing on me. "If my sources are correct Lyrical, Mr. Garrett is your manager?"
My smile brightened at the mention of my manager, "Yes."
"Can you give us any juicy details about your and Ashton's first meet?" Kelly's eyes swarm with impatience.
I blushed, "Well Ashton was having a small get together at his place. Mr. Garrett thought it would be a wonderful place for me to get some allies in the business and learning experience."
Ashton's glaze burned my skull. He squeezed my leg, granting approval for reciting what we had gone over.
"What drew you to Lyrical?" Kelly pointed the question at Ashton.
Ashton grinned devious, "It was her beauty of course but I also had the feeling to know her."
Kelly smirked, "Like one would say the heart wants what it wants? Love at first sight type of thing?"
I glanced at Ashton, eager to know his answer.
"I'm not one who believed in that, but I would say that now... yes." Ashton replied carefully.
"What would you say to the speculators?" Kelly shifted closer.
"Speculators?" Ashton asked, calm.
"This rumor going around that you two are not in love. Many are saying, Lyrical's song Let It Go cover is directed towards you." Kelly watched Ashton's reaction closely.
Ashton shrugged it off, "I say they are wrong. I love Lyrical very much."
"And the song?" Kelly pushed.
Ashton smiled darkly, "Let us have Lyrical answer that. After all she did sing it."
I swallowed, my nerves clawing at me, "I covered the song because I loved it. It spoke to me, there wasn't any personal connection with my relationship."
Ashton squeezed my leg again, smiling down at me. I smiled back, relieved I wasn't in trouble so far.
"So Lyrical, I hear you have a concert coming up. Care to tell us about it?" Kelly's eyes were glued on me.
"I'll be performing my cover Let It Go in High Main Street Park in two weeks." I smiled.
"Well there you have it everyone! All you Lyrical fans better rank up on tickets!" Kelly spoke to the cameras.
"So you lied?" Kaylee stirred her tea.
I nodded regretful, "She went on with asking questions and I replied like he wanted me to."
Lucca cleared his throat, "What did you say when she asked about...the beating."
I swallowed tears forming in my tired eyes, "I told them someone broke in and beat me until I was unconscious and didn't remember what the intruder looked like."
My children looked at me with sad expressions.
"Don't be sad, children. I'm here and stronger then ever." I told them.
Kaylee smiled at me while her brothers stayed silent. "What happened next mama?"
My face soured at the memory, "He sung a song he had wrote."
"But I thought he was only a partner with Mitch?" Kaylee frowned.
"He was, but he was also a small time singer and model." I explained.
"Ashton I've been told you have a special surprise for us." Kelly grinned.
I looked at Ashton confused.
Ashton smiled, mischief in his cloudy eyes. "I have prepared a song."
"Lyrical you looked stunned." Kelly noted.
"I am." I replied, whispering.
"I wanted to surprise her as well." Ashton have a devilish smirk.
