Authors Note: I've never been to The Grove so I don't know if Nike is near Brandy Melville... Or if they even have a Nike lol. IF YOU LIVE THERE LET YA GIRL KNOW LOL THANKS

"Hey, where are you going?" Mom asked.

I had quickly put on some Converse, retouched my makeup a little, and got ready to meet up with Cameron. I couldn't tell my Mom where I was going, obviously, so I just answer with, "Uh just going for a run."

"With your Pennyboard??"

"With your Pennyboard??"

"Uh.. Yeah." I pause. "I wanted to stop by the bakery and get a few treats to bring back home."

I felt bad for lying, but I had to.

"Oh well okay then." She says, waving her hand as if dismissing me. "Can you check the mail though on your way back?"

"Sure." I say, and Pennyboard all the way to The Grove mall.

I look around, wondering where the heck Cameron was. I was tempted to walk into the Brandy Melville and buy something but I resisted myself, deciding to text Cameron instead.

Me: hey where r u?

Cameron: I'm in the Nike by the Brandy Melville

I walk in, finding Cameron right by the entrance. He was wearing thick sunglasses and a baseball cap that almost covered his eyes.

"Hey!" I say hugging him. I eye him up and down confusedly. "What's with the outfit though?"

"It's my disguise," he whispers. "And here, my new name is Carlos." He says, trying to do an accent.

I laugh, rolling my eyes. "Okaay 'Carlos'. Too famous for the mall now?"

He looks around before saying, "you never know, Mads. Some crazy fans might be lurking around."

"HEY EVERYONE!" I yell.

"Madison I swear..." Cameron pleads.

"CAMERON DALLAS IS RIGHT THERE!"

Suddenly there's a loud swarm of teenage girls screaming near the Nike. How they got here so fast? I have no idea honestly.

"WHERE IS HE?!" One of the girls demands.

Cameron was standing next to me, pulling his hoodie over his head and tugging the strings all the way so that he looked like a potato or something.

I laugh, deciding to spare his life just this one time. "He's over at the Pac Sun."

They all scream, charging down the middle of the mall like a stampede of fangirls.

"Madison you are so evil," Cameron laughs.

I flip my hair jokingly. "I know."

We walk out of the Nike, Cameron offering to buy me ice cream. I get a mint chocolate chip and he gets Chocolate Chunk.

"So what was the so called surprise you texted me about?" I ask, licking my cone. "I can't stay long because I told my mom I was going for a run, checking the mail, and picking up some stuff from a bakery on my way back."

Cameron smiles. "Remember what I told you yesterday?"

I squint as I try to remember. "Omg, wait. I'm going to the show with you today! How could I forget?!"

He laughs. "You forgot? Isn't that the reason we signed you up for online school?"

"I mean yeah, but I guess it just slipped my mind," I say, taking another lick of my ice cream. "Well what do I do now?"

"You follow me to my car so I can take you to San Francisco?"

I snort. "About my Mom, doofus."

He shrugs. "I don't know. Do you want to tell her before or after the show?"

I think about it. I would tell her before I go, but what would I say? I'm going to San Francisco with my boyfriend and probably the rest of the U.S. too didn't seem like the most sensible thing to tell her. I decide I would just worry about it later and tell her after, once I had thought of something to tell her to where she wouldn't get mad.

"I'll just tell her after," I finally say.

"You sure?"

I nod. "Yup."

I take a selfie of me and Cameron holding up our ice cream cones. I wasn't going to post it, obviously, but it would be nice to have memories.

"Madison? Is that you?"

Me and Cameron turn around, coming in contact with Sage.

"Sage?!" I exclaim. What the heck was she doing here? Well buying clothes obviously... but you know what I mean.

"Hey Madison!" Her eyes travel over to Cameron, noticing he was beside me. "Who's this?" She points.

"He's my... friend. Carlos."

"Hi," Cameron waves, lowering his voice so that it was unrecognizable. I knew for a fact that Sage loved Magcon, so we couldn't risk her knowing it was actually him.

"I swear I thought he was your boyfriend," Sage laughs. She seemed way nicer than I thought she was, honestly. I guess I just never got to know her.

"Um nope. Just friends," I laugh nervously.

"Well I'll get going. See ya tomorrow Madison," she waves, before walking away. What a shame that I really wouldn't be seeing her tomorrow though.

Cameron let's out a breath of relief. "Oh my gosh that was close. Did you know her or something?"

I nod. "She's from school."

Cameron checks the time on his phone. "Well we better get going. The drive to San Francisco takes about two or three hours, so we better hurry now."

"But my stuff? If I'm going on tour don't I need my things?"

He sighs, glancing at the time again. "Well I guess. You have to hurry though."

I nod. "I just need you to stop by this bakery first."

~

I arrive home with a few cupcakes, placing them on the counter once I get back. There was a note taped on the fridge that said,

Had to go to your school to get the transfer complete for your school change. There's some left overs in the fridge, love you!

I throw the note away in the trash, feeling even worse than I was before for not telling her the truth. It wasn't that I couldn't, it was just I literally didn't know how to. I had so much to explain, including the fact that me and Cameron were even dating.

I sigh and walk to my room, trying to look at the bright side of things. At least I wouldn't be separated from Cameron because of the tour.

I grab my old suitcase and throw a bunch of things in there. I packed a bunch of things like clothes, shoes, makeup, books, and what not.

I lock the front door before heading back to Cameron's car, and he helps me get my suitcase into the trunk.

"How did your Mom not see you carrying this large thing through the living room?" He asks, sliding into the driver seat. "Like that's sure to raise questions or.."

I laugh. "She wasn't there. She left a note though."

Cameron connects his music with the car, and Drake's One Dance starts blaring through the speakers.

"You ready?" He asks me, smiling as he starts up the car.

"Ready as I'll ever be." I reply.
