Peril stepped out into the ice lands. She was astonished. There was only two known tunnels but this. This was new. She could tell because the other tunnels had moss in them and were badly cracked. Where as this one the rock was smooth and there were no plant life anywhere. She walked out not the snow, everything melting beneath her touch. She looked out and saw the ice palace, glittering and standing tall. She looked around and saw a cave, with blood leading to the entrance. Clay! She thought and bounded off to the entrance. Reaching the entrance she shook the water off of her. She heard voices then a whimper. She saw light and ducked behind a rock. Peeking out she saw that it was clear. Walking g silently she went further into the cave. Water dripped loudly but she still followed the voices. She reached a bend and slowly peeked her head. Lying in the middle of three dragons, the same dragons who kidnapped him, was Clay. He looked miserable. One of his wings looked crooked and his other wing had ice on it. That icewing must of used their frostbreath on him. Anger boiled in Peril but she realized that he wasn't the only one in their. There were other caves and she walked her way down one. There lying facing the wall was an Icewing. One that looked like he hadn't eaten in a while.
"Hello?" Peril whispered quietly to the icewing. He whipped his head around and glared.
"Are you the one who was sent to torture me?" He asked hoarsly. Peril shook her head and came close. He tensed up as she reached out to his shackles that bound him to the stone ground.
"Look don't touch me or you'll burn. Trust me you don't want that." He shook is head as understanding. Peril wrapped her talons around the shackle and it melted off. She did the same for the others.
"Thank you." He seemed truly happy. "My name is Icestar. What's yours?" He asked quietly.
"I'm Peril. I'm here to save someone when I came upon you. Come on let's get the others." She quickly and quietly sped away to the other caves. The same thing happened as to what happened with Icestar. What she couldn't figure was why they were here. Each cave was different, each had a dragon from another tribe. But each cave had something different. Icestar' s had ice covered where he layed, and his shackles were coated in ice. The rainwing, Mullberry, had vines everywhere that Peril had trouble not burning. The Nightwing there was all black and Peril took her as a shadow. Her name was Abyss. The seawing, Wave, had shown his lights, they nearly blinded Peril. The sandwing, Crevas, was small but had a really long tail that had a barb on the end. The six then scampered off to the cave Clay was in.
"This mudwing is different. That skywing over there blew fire on him. He didn't even smolder a bit." Mullberry said.
"Its because he was born under three moons. He has fire proof scales." Peril explained quietly. The others nodded. Then she realized that she to was born under three moons.
"So was I. Except I wasn't part of the prophecy." Icestar said. Peril whipped her head around. The others nodded in agreement. She turned her head back to Clay and noted that the three dragons were in deep conversation and probably leave for a while. She motioned for the others to come with her. Turning her head back she realized that none of them were close to each other, like they were afraid to touch one another. Exiting the cave they walked for a bit. Coming across another cave that was big enough to fit them all. Entering, each dragon went to a separate part of the cave. No one spoke.
"So you all were born on the brightest night to?" Peril asked. The others nodded. "What makes you all special?" She asked kindly. Icestar spoke first.
"I have ice scales." Everyone turned to him and Peril nodded.
"That's like me. Except I have fire scales." She said. The two shared a long glance before the others spoke up.
"Everywhere I go, vines appear." Mullberry said.
"My lights are to bright." Wave spoke up after a small silence.
"I'm part shadow. Literally, I blend into shadows and I can turn into a shadow." Abyss demonstrated and everyone lightly clapped.
"I have a whip like tail. My barn is super poisonous. But I can also heal someone if I stab them." Crevas spoke. He spread his tail out to its full length. He was right, it was long. Light conversation was made and soon everyone was heading off to sleep. Peril stayed awake and stood out at the cave opening. Icestar came up beside her.
"You should get some sleep, you'll need it to save your friend." He said quietly. Peril shook her head. He shrugged and went back inside the cave.
Tomorrow will be a long day...
