Matt's POV

Ring.

Ring.

Ring.

I rolled over with a groan.

Crap.

Who the hell is calling me this early?

"What the hell are you calling me so early for?" I grumbled.

"That's a nice way to greet your girlfriend." I heard Mia say over the phone.

I cursed.

"I'm sorry babe. I thought it was one of the guys. What's up?" I asked her.

"Are you still in bed?" She asked.

"Yeah babe. It's early." I said, rolling onto my side.

I heard her chuckle and the sound made me smile.

"Matt, it's almost one in the afternoon." She said.

"Holy shit are you serious?" I exclaimed, jumping out of bed.

"Dead serious. I've called you three times already." She said.

"Well I'm gonna jump in the shower really quick. Am I gonna see you today?" Hearing the hope in my own voice and praying I didn't sound desperate and pathetic.

"Yeah. Can I come by your house?" She asked me.

I could've jumped for joy.

"Yeah come on over. The keys under the dog house on my porch. Just let yourself in and feel free to jump in the shower and join me if I'm still in there." I said.

I could hear her laugh as I heard a car door slam.

She's on her way.

"Very funny. Not gonna be making any mattress angels until we talk first." She said

Uh oh.

That's never a good sign.

"Should I be worried?" I asked her cautiously.

"Probably." Mia said, not bothering to elaborate before she hung up.

I was confused to say the least.

Mia's POV

I pulled up to Matt's house, and like he said, his spare key was under the dog house on his porch.

I let myself in and the house was quiet.

I heard the pounding of feet and there was Bella.

I bent down and petted behind her ears.

She gave me a doggy grin and then rolled onto her stomach.

I scratched her belly for a minute and then stood up.

"Matt?" I called.

But I still got no reply.

He must still be in the shower.

And there's no way that I'm going upstairs when he's still in the shower.

We would never get to our conversation that we so desperately need to have.

So I made myself comfy on his couch and switched on the TV.

I was only twenty minutes into The Hangover when I heard Matt's heavy footsteps coming closer.

I turned and saw him walk around the corner, his face breaking out into a smile when he saw me.

"Hey baby." He said.
