Work seemed to pass by too quickly.

And I felt myself getting more and more nervous the closer I got to Matt's house.

I had picked up some pizza and carried the beer in my other hand.

I tried to figure out how I would open the door when I heard Bella start to bark.

I smiled when the door swung open and Matt was in front of me.

"Hey beautiful." He murmured, taking the pizza and beer from me.

I couldn't help the smile that went across my face.

Man he's amazing.

"Hey." I said softly.

He moved to the side and let me in.

I bent down to pet Bella as Matt closed the door and walked into the kitchen.

I stood up and followed him into the kitchen, my eyes scanning Matt's impressive backside.

Wide shoulders, muscled back, trim waist, hard ass.

I closed my mouth just to make sure I wasn't drooling.

He turned back and saw the way I was looking at him, and a smile went across his face.

He leaned his hip against the counter and just looked at me.

It seemed like my feet moved on their own and then I was in his arms.

Matt's lips came down on mine and I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck to make sure he didn't go anywhere.

His arms were around my waist in a second.

He had turned me around and lifted me on to the counter before I realized what was going to happen.

I moved my lips from his and tried to get a word out, but his lips moved down to my neck.

I felt my eyes roll back and I didn't want to it to stop.

"He hates liars. You have to tell him." Leana's voice echoed in my head.

That snapped me out of it.

I put my hands against his chest and pushed him back, trying to catch my breath.

"The pizza will get cold." I said, trying to come up with any excuse to stop.

He looked a little confused but backed off.

"Yeah. Lets eat." He said, helping me off the counter.

I got off the counter and served us both a plate.

He sat at the table and ate in silence for the most part, until he looked at me and stared.

"What?" I asked him, putting my pizza down.

"What's wrong?" Matt asked me.

'Am I that transparent?' I thought to myself.

"I, uh, I have to tell you something." I said.

He shifted uncomfortably in his seat and put his pizza down too.

"Okay." He said, leaning back in his chair, waiting for me to talk.

I opened my mouth, trying to figure out how to start.

"So, you remember jack?" I asked him.

His eyes darkened and his arms crossed over his chest.

"Douche bag that you work with. Was checking out your ass when I came to get you for lunch that one day." He said, his tone telling me it wasn't a fond memory.

"Yeah. That's him. Well, uh, we slept together." I blurted out.

His eyes widened and he pushed away from the table, the chair falling to the floor.

"What?!" He boomed.

"It was months ago. Way before I ever met you." I said quickly.

He was breathing so rapidly, his chest pumping up and down.

I stood up slowly and walked over to him.

I slowly laid my hand on his chest, trying to get him to relax.

His breathing slowed down, and he finally looked down at me.

"Don't do that to me." He finally said, his hands coming up to cradle my face.

"I'm sorry. It just came out. I tried to keep talking but you just jumped up." I told him.

He pulled me against him and hugged me.

"I didn't mean to scare you. I'm sorry babe." He told me.

"It was months ago. I don't have any feelings for him. But he hit on me the other day. And I shut him down. Hard. I'm not interested in anyone else but you. I promise. I just wanted to tell you. So you didn't think I was hiding anything." I told him.

It was quiet for a few minutes and I started to get nervous.

I pulled away from Matt and went to the table, throwing the plate in the garbage and grabbing my purse.

"I understand that you're probably upset. I'm going to head home. Call me when you've had some time to process." I told him, turning and walking out of the kitchen.

I didn't get far before Matt's hand was wrapped around mine.

He turned me back to face him.

"Not so fast." He said.

I looked up at him and his eyes were soft.

"I'm not mad at you. I'm really not. I'm mad, but at that jack ass that can't seem to take a hint. You're MY girlfriend. I thought I made that clear to him when I took you to lunch." Matt said, his eyes hardening.

We stood quietly, holding each other.

"Do you want me to talk to him?" Matt asked me, his jaw tensing.

My eyes widened and I immediately stepped away from him.

"No! No. I think he got the message. And I told him if he couldn't act professional, that I'd move to another agency." I said to him.

He looked relieved when I said that.

"When you said that..." Matt trailed off, looking down.

My hands cradled his head and I made him look at me.

"I'd never do that to you. I would NEVER hurt you that way." I said vehemently.

His eyes never moved from mine and after a moment he nodded.

"I know. I know you wouldn't. Thank you for telling me." He said softly.

He leaned down and softly pressed a kiss on my lips.

We stood there in each others embrace for a few minutes before Matt pulled away from me.

"Will you stay?" He asked me softly.

I smiled softly and then nodded.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards his bedroom, Jack being the furthest thing from either of our minds.
