TWO

Song of the chapter: Truce by Twenty One Pilots

I awoke at the sound of a persistent beeping. Prying my eyes open, I looked to my left and saw my alarm clock flashing 7:00 on my bedside table. I was quick to turn it off and roll over on in my bed so I could get back to sleep.

-

"Why are you not up yet? It's 7:50, school starts in half an hour!" I heard my mum yell. What? I thought crap, I forgot about school! I hurriedly got up even though my body was telling me to just go to sleep. If I had known that I had school today I wouldn't have... Okay I still would've stayed up until two-thirty in the morning binge watching Gossip Girl, which, might I add, still hasn't finished yet. I've already seen it so I could spoil it for everyone if I wanted to...

Nah I'm not a complete bitch.

I quickly changed into my school uniform which consisted of a white, collared shirt with a maroon edge, a yellow and maroon, striped tie, a maroon, knee-length tunic over the top, black stockings, a maroon jumper, and to finish it all off, a darker maroon blazer.

Obviously our school colour is blue.

After that I scrambled into the bathroom and brushed my almost waist length, medium-brown, hair until all the knots were out, leaving it in it's usual frizzy state. I took a moment to look at my hair. I'd forgotten what it was like to have long, full, hair. Remembering the hurry I was in, I tied it in a quick low ponytail then plaited it, I didn't have time to deal with my frizz properly so I just made it seem slightly less frizzy.

After brushing my teeth, I put a tiny bit of concealer under my eyes to reduce the redness and some over my blemishes along with a thin layer of mascara. Normally I'd wear more makeup, but I still liked it to look natural. Unfortunately at school we had a strict no makeup policy, so I only wore a tiny bit so it looked like I'm not wearing anything when I really am. I know, I'm a rebel.

Dashing downstairs I grabbed an Up & Go in vanilla flavour from the fridge and put on my shoes -black clarks, you know the kind that are for school with laces and all, just gorgeous- then grabbed my stuff and shoved it in my bag which I then slung over my shoulders. I quickly shouted a goodbye to my mum as I exited the threshold and began to run to school.

Normally the walk takes me about 15 minutes, but seeings as I ran the whole way, it only took five. Normally, I'd be faster for the short distance but I was slowed down due to my attire and the bag of what felt like bricks on my back.

I can't believe how much my life had turned upside down, I never thought I would have come to this place again, and I certainly couldn't say that I was happy that I was.

When I arrived at school I checked the time on my phone to see it was 8:11, meaning I had 9 minutes until homeroom started. I had grabbed my phone in case someone called me. It wouldn't be able to do much more if I didn't have the password. I speed walked to my locker which I -thankfully- remember where was. I remembered the general area of where the lockers where and only specifically remembered this one locker as mine because someone had drawn a little dick in the corner of it that no one seemed to be able to remove. I punched in the code of my lock which is the same one I'd had all high school (Year Seven to Twelve). Twist twist twist, 14, twist twist, 32, twist, 9. Please be correct I thought it myself as I pulled the lock down and it thankfully popped open.

I quickly dumped my bag into the bottom of my locker placed the books from inside it on the top shelf. I turned and looked at the timetable that was stuck inside the door of my locker then grabbed stuff for my first two periods of the day; Mathematics Extended 1 and English Extended. I shut my locker door and sit down on the floor in front of it seeings as I still have few minutes until homeroom and my locker is right next to the classroom.
