I woke up at around 8am, this was early for me. I looked over to see Dan still asleep, his messy hair covering most of his face and his mouth wide open. As I led there, looking at my ceiling, I remembered the night before. How we were kissing when I heard the front door open, hearing mum shouting my name to see if I was still up. How I panicked and asked Dan to hide, and how he stayed calm and did as I asked. I remember mum coming into my room, and I remember telling her that I was about to go to sleep and that I still felt ill. As I looked at Dan I thought of how he fell asleep before me and how beautiful he looked when he slept.
I got up out of bed and went to check if anyone was up. Taking a step into the living room, I saw that everyone was still in bed, and I could get Dan out of the house without anyone seeing him. I carefully walked back into my room and attempted to wake Dan. He opened his eyes slowly and I could tell he was tired.
"Hi" I whispered "I'm sorry to wake you up"
"Mmm its alright" He replied, slowly as he sat up "What time is it?"
"Its about ten past eight" I told him "I'm really sorry but we've got to get you out of here before anyone wakes up"
"It's alright" He said, getting out of bed. He quickly got changed and we snuck out of my room. Just before I opened the door, I give Dan a quick kiss and asked him to text me later. As I shut the door, Martyn came into the front room.
"Why did you open the door" He asked
"I heard something and I thought it might be the postman" I replied. He looked suspicious but didn't question it any further.

-time skip-

It was 1pm and I hadn't heard from Dan yet. I brushed it off because I thought he might be busy but there was a small thing in the back of my mind telling me that he was in danger. I tried to ignore it and carry on with my day. I was making lunch when I heard something vibrate. Thinking it was my phone, I reached into my pocket and looked at the screen but unfortunately there were no new messages. Mum and Martyn were sat on the sofa and I saw them look at their phones too, but both looked confused when they saw they had not got a notification. I carried on making my sandwich, slightly confused about what it could be.

Almost an hour later, I had completely forgotten about it, until mum walked into my room, holding Dan's phone.
"Whose phone is this, young man?" She said in a stern voice
"Erm, I don't know" I replied, as calm as possible
"Phillip Michael Lester, don't you lie to me" She almost shouted "Did you have a girl over last night? Is that why you didn't come with us to the restaurant?"
I quickly thought of all the possible excuses I could use to get out of this.
"No" I answered truthfully, to the first part at least
"Then whose phone is this?"
"Erm, its my friends. He broke up with his girlfriend yesterday and he came to me for support"
"You chose your friend over a meal with us?" I could tell she was angry
"I'm so sorry, he needed me" By this point, Martyn had heard shouting and came to see what was happening
"Whatever, give this to him when you next see him" She threw the phone at me and stormed off.

Martyn came into the room and shut the door behind him. I clicked the home button of Dan's phone to see a picture of clouds he'd taken from an aeroplane window. I looked up at Martyn and asked why he was in my room.
"Was Dan the 'friend' who came over yesterday?"
I nodded
"And thats the reason you opened the door this morning? So he could go home?"
"Yeah" I said quietly, hoping mum couldn't hear us
"Phil, you know I don't mind you dating him but you need to tell mum. I'm not going to cover for you anymore so please just tell her and Dad before they catch you in the act. They'd much rather hear it from you than walk in on you and Dan.. you know."
"For your information, we didn't even do that last night anyway. But alright I'll tell them. How do you think they'll react?"
"I honestly don't know, mate. But no matter what, I'll support you, okay?"
"Alright" I smiled
