8. She's Mine

Dylan P.O.V

It was the morning of Monday and my mom cooked breakfast for me and my dad. When my dad came back my mom quit her morning job and kept her late job.

I was eating blueberry pancakes with eggs and bacon. "What made you decide on making breakfast this beautiful morning?" I asked my mom with my eyebrows raised.

"You know I have my favorite kid here and my favorite husband here and this would be a beautiful moment." She said while sitting across from me and my dad.

It was no surprise that I was her favorite, she treated me better than Jacob and Bryan. The fact that Jacob wasn't focused so much in school made her like Bryan a lot more but since he went to college for the study of a body on sports I'm not sure what it's called but basically he can be a gym coach. I told my mom at a young age I wanted to be a surgeon for the brain and she knew I was her favorite. So she liked me cause I wanted to be something that was helping people and I needed to be super smart.

"Don't you have school?" My dad said while folding his news paper down on the table. I gave him a nod because my face was full of food.

"I will drive you once you finish your breakfast." He said standing up and walking to the other room to watch news.

Two things about him driving me is I was happy that I didn't have to walk cause I been walking for the past two weeks and he's my dad which means it will be really awkward. He's done stuff that wasn't ok he's yelled at me so many times so I'm not sure if I was ready for a car ride alone with him.

I finished off my last piece of bacon and walked to the living room. I stood at the door that connected the kitchen and the living room with my backpack on my shoulder. My dad saw me and got up as I walked to the driveway. He unlocked the car and I hopped in.

This whole car ride was silent. It only took a few minutes to get my school. I exited out of the car when he pulled to the side of my school.

Once I got out Skylar ran up to me like she knew where I was going to end up at. She grabbed my hand and we walked to the the entrance of the school we walked over to my lockers where Gene and Julie were. They both looked at my hands surprised that we were holding hands.

"Are you dating?" Gene said with his eyes big as golf balls.

I nodded my head and that's when I thought of a weird idea. "Let's go on a double date. You can bring Katie." I said. He quickly nodded and ran to her.

"Count me in!" Julie said. I laughed in my mind cause who would she take because she doesn't know a lot of people. Gene left with Katie to there class and Skylar went to talk with her dad. I was with Julie and she strikes up a conversation.

"Haven't you really only known Skylar for like 5 days?" She asked me.

I did just realize that's how long we known each other but it seemed more like a few weeks and I didn't really care.

"Hello earth to Dylan." She said clapping in my face.

"Yeah but it doesn't matter cause I like her." I said to her calmly and not focusing.

"But for all you know she could be a serial killer." She said while pretending to stab herself in the heart.

"You being a little harsh were just in high school plus she's mine now she can't kill me she'll be forced to kill you." I said with an evil smile across my face as I skipped away to my class. I walked in and half the class was already there I took my usual seat.

The bell rang and the rest of the students entered.

"She's mine now!" I yelled at the top of my lungs when I felt Pauls foot into the side of my chest. The impact was so hard I think I started to bleed. I tried to scream but it's not easy screaming when your being choked to death. I just couldn't believe that I was being beat to death because of dating someone.

"Will you stop!" I said whimpering holding my sides with my arms. They didn't care and just continued. I saw a few more guys surround me and join with the kicking.

I didn't see anything but Paul collapsed on the ground too after that the guys looked at the dude who did it. I was scared he was gonna beat me up too for some reason.

Once they all left I covered my eyes and layed there with my body shaking. "I won't hurt you." My mind was surprised it was a female voice. If you can beat Paul and is a female your pretty strong.

Wait it was probably Skylar she did work out like everyday. I uncovered my eyes and blinked a few times, I stood up to see a short girl in front of me looking up at me. It wasn't Skylar but it was Julie. "Thank you." I said brushing myself off then walking away to look for Skylar.

"Really I saved your life and all your gonna say is thank you and walk off?" I heard behind me when she hissed at me.

I turned around and stepped up to her, "What do you want me to do give you an award or something?" I hissed back at her.

"No but I could've let you stay there and walk away but I didn't!" She said yelling at me full blast.

I realized what I did wrong and ran up to her and hugged her picking her off her feet. "I'm so sorry and thank you." I said simply whispering in her ear.

She let go and I put her down. She smiled at me and I walked her to my house.

We went home and I took her in the kitchen. "Hungry?" I asked looking into the fridge.

"Yeah a little." She said rubbing her stomach as it growled ever so loudly.

I reached my arm in and grabbed a cereal box. It's not weird that we put our cereal in the fridge it keeps it fresh.

"Cereal?" I said looking at her innocently. She nodded her head and took a seat at the dining table in the middle of the kitchen. I poured two bowls of cereal and set them in front of her and inform of me as I sat across from her.

"Thank you again." I said while taking in a scoop of cereal into my mouth.

"No problem really your my best friend and I didn't want to see you get hurt. " she said.

After we finished our cereal I took her to this room were we could play video games. "Video games?" I said looking up at her because I was sitting setting it up. "Yeah I'm gonna kick your butt!" She said sitting next to me.
