Solace and Nox: A New Light

Chapter 38

Ci soared through the sky at an immense speed. Cytra had to hold on tightly to his mane so she didn't get left behind. She loved the rush of air that pushed her hair back, and cooled off her face.

She could see the world below her in a way that no one else has ever seen before. She saw several different kingdoms, living their normal everyday lives. They flew over an ocean and saw the Kragos Islands. Ci flew close to the water, and tilted his body so he could put his wing in the water. Cytra held out her hand, and felt the cool rush of ocean water splash on her hand and into her face.

She laughed. She had never felt so good.

Ci smiled and flew back into the air, and incredible speed. They were crossing continents in a matter of minutes. Once they reached the mainland again, Ci let out a powerful roar. The forest below came to life. Cytra could see movement within the trees, as other creatures awakened and joined Ci.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"When I was imprisoned, many centuries ago, many other magical creatures were also imprisoned. Those who weren't captured, like the fairies in Turphia, went into hiding. I'm simply telling them the time has come to return to your world," Ci explained.

Cytra smiled. Her plan was going even better than she had anticipated.

"Moldark's in for a real surprise," Cytra called over the wind.

"He sure is!"

They were finally approaching Shodon. The beautiful valleys that surrounded Shodon were even more incredible from the air. Cytra never thought she would ever get a view like this. She was truly mesmerized by this whole experience.

But it wouldn't last.

It was time for battle.

Ci let out an even more powerful roar, and the entire kingdom shook. For once in Cytra's life, stealth was not an option. When Moldark revealed his evil plan, he declared war.

He was going to get it.
