A Run Back To Life

Chapter 25

I whip all my make up that is caked on to my face. I always worn make up. I think this was the plan all along for me to get married and hurt then run. All I have ever known to do is run.
"Hey Aunt Anda. We aren't going back are we?" Mason asked. "I'm afraid not." I say. "Uncle Brax really hurt you." Mason says. "He has pushed me." I say.  He shakes his head in understanding way.
I park the car and get out and so does Mason. "Is this were we are staying?" He asks. "Ya." I say.

     ***5 months later***
Braxton hadn't found me. I had a given birth to my baby. He is a boy!!! Yes everyone like Kyel and Jasper know where I am. They aren't mad at me but they aren't happy either. I wouldn't have left if I would of known I was having a child. I feel so bad. Then I know if I didn't leave I wouldn't be able to have my baby.
Mason walks into my room. "Hey Aunt Anda." He says. "What's up little man?" I ask. "I'm bored." He tells me. "Do you want to go on a hike?" I ask. "Is Devyn going to come?" He ask. "Yes my baby can go." I say. "Hurry up lets go!" He yells.

After the hike my mom calls.

Incoming Call:
Me: Hello?
Mom: Hey Manda! I miss you my baby.
Me: I miss my husband mom.
Mom: I know baby. He misses you too.
Me: My son is like 2 months old and he is so adorable!!!
Mom: You should come and visit. I would love to see him.
Me: Maybe when he is older mom. I don't want to risk loosing him because of my in-laws.
Mom: Don't wear make up they won't know you.
Me: Braxton will...
Mom: I just miss you.
Me: I miss you too mom. I have to go.

End of Call

       ***6 years later***
I wake up to Devyn in my bed. "Mason!!" I yell at my nephew. He is a teenager now. "Yes?" He ask. "Ready to move back to Cali?" I ask. "No, I miss everyone." He says. "I know." I say with tears building in my eyes. "What's wrong?" Devyn asked. "You look like your daddy. Mason I miss your dad also." I say tearing up. "Come on Aunt Anda!" He says grabbing my bags.

After a long drive back to my home town I pull into my moms place. "Welcome home!!!!" Everyone yells. Miles runs up to Mason and they take off. Devyn on the other hand was holding on to me for dear life. "Momma who are these people?" He asks. I pick him up. "He isn't use to the crowd." I say. "Damn Manda every time I see you. Your get hotter each time." Kyel yells. I chuckle. I look to the side. I walk into the house. "It sure has changed." I say. "Oh ya." Jasper says. "Does your kid know how to play ball?" Kyel says. "Better than his daddy." I say tickling him in his sides. "He doesn't know him does he?" Nola asks. "No I am scared of loosing him because my husband doesn't know how to trust." I say. I look away. "Can I take him and get ice cream and play at the park?" He asks me. "Kyel..." I say trailing off. "Can I go momma?" Devyn asks. "If you want." I say. "Good because I need to talk to you Manda." Jasper says. "About?" I ask taking a step away from everyone. I set down Devyn and he ran to Kyel and they both left. "You know how Braxton has to have a baby before he gets to a certain age or what ever. He is getting married to Karla." Jasper says. I look at him and start to tear up. "Why?" I ask. "Well he thinks you have past away. He looked everywhere for you and he just wanted you back and it has been 6 years." Jasper says walking off.
I walked into the kitchen and was watching my mom cook. "I'm glad you came back. I still don't understand why you left." Mom states. "Some things you need to know most you don't." I say calmly. "Sweetie you can tell me anything." Mom says putting her hands in her hair. "I know, everything that I remember and the things that Braxton's brother did to me I just couldn't help it but run." I explain. "He comes here every Tuesday and Thursday and sometimes Saturday's." She tells me. "I hurt him." I say. "But sweetie your health comes before anyone. Well except your child and Mason." Mom says. "Mom my baby has a name!" I exclaim with a bit of laughter. "You've grown up to be a beautiful young woman." My mom says with a tear rolling down her cheek. "Oh mom please don't cry." I say hugging her.
"Manda wanna go on a walk?" Nola asks. "Sure why not." I say. We walked out of the house but Nola bumped into someone. "Shit I'm sorry!" She hissed mostly to herself. "Hey Nola how is Dom an you? I haven't seen you since like a year ago." A hot guy says. "We are good." Nola says. "That's good. Who is this?" He says. "This is my cousin." Nola says. "Her name?" He asked. "Um Mandy." I say. "Hi Mandy I'm Braxton." Braxton says. My eyes widened damn he has getting hot. I thought he was cute before but damn he is hot. "Mandy and I were going on a walk." Nola tells him. "You kinda look noticeable like I've seen you before." Braxton says. "Oh huh." I say. "Nola has Manda contacted the family?" He asked. I frown a little bit. "Well I don't know I haven't talked to her." Nola says while looking at me. "Do you know her?" Braxton asks. "I never really liked her. She was to annoying. I know most everything about her though." I say. "Ya did you know she was married?" He asked me. I shrug. "Ready to go?" Nola says. "Totally ready!" I say hurrying off. "You look good in that dress." Nola says. "Thanks." I say. "You've got tanner." I say. "I live in Arizona!" I exclaim. "I wish I could be like that! Do you think I'll be skinny after having a baby?" Nola whines. "Depends, I wasn't that big having my son." I say.

We get back after an hour walking. " Is my baby here?!" I yell. "Yes!" Devyn says running up to me. "Hey buddy!" I say picking him up. "Momma it was so fun. I beat Uncle Kyel!!" He yells. "That's my kid!" I say with a wink. "Hey Mandy." Braxton says. "Hi." I say awkwardly. "You have a son?" He questions. "Ya when I was with my boyfriend." I say. "Your eye colors are completely different." Braxton states. "Oh ya it's my old boyfriend eyes." I state. "Oh what's his name?" He asks. "I don't know it's been so many years since I last spoke to him." I say. "Oh hmmm." He says checking me out. I wake away from his presence. "Momma, Kyel said that was my dad." Devyn says. "Oh okay. Kyel!!!!" I yell. "I didn't do it." Kyel defends himself. I set Devyn down. "Where is Mason?" I ask. "With Miles. Miles went to his girlfriends so who knows where those boys went off too." Jasper says. "Mason?" Braxton questions. "Ya Mason." Kyel speaks. "Like Mason Brisk?" He questions. "Yes." Nola says. "I thought he was gone. I miss him. What the hell I miss my wife!" He says holding back tears. Then Jasper pulls me into a hug and whispers, "You think he misses you? Manda he is going through hell he cries all the time." Then I start to cough. "Damn it!" I hiss. "What?" Braxton asks. "I know where Manda is." I say really quite. "What?" He questions. "I know where she is. I have the whole time. The family has too." I whisper. "Do you know why she left?" He asks. "Yes." I say. "Does everyone?" He asks. "No." I speak. "Then why wouldn't you have told anyone?!" He yelled.
I ran out and started to cry. I took my heels off and took off. I grabbed my phone and put my earphone is my ears. I inhale and exhale.

Text messages:
Nola: You shouldn't have told him. He has a lot of hope and he is pissed.
Me: I couldn't see him like that Nola I just can't. I love him.
Nola: He doesn't even remember you.
Me: I look different I act different. Now I have a child so I am completely different.
Nola: You are still pure, beautiful. He will always love you.
Me: He hates me! ):
Nola: Sis you left him. He won't like the decision.
Me: He is getting married!
Nola: You've been gone.
Me: I should of stayed in Arizona.
Nola: But you didn't. We all missed you. We are happy you are home.
Me: I am too but no one knows me.

I walked home after my break. Braxton was still there. "Where is Mason?" I ask. "Yes?" Mason says. I walk up to him and hug him. "You are getting so tall!" I say. "Are you okay?" He whispers. "Do you want to go home?" I ask. "No. We can't keep running. You need him." He whispers. "I know." I gently say. "Are you feeling okay?" He asks. "Mase I just need a stable life." I say. He kisses my forehead. "Mason?" Braxton says. "Hey Uncle Brax!" He almost yells. They hug.
