The Next Day
11:15 am

"Good morning." Carlos groaned.

"Mmm..." I mumbled, half asleep.

"What's wrong? You're usually up by this time." He asked, sitting up. He propped himself on his elbows.

"I'm tired." I repositioned myself onto his lower stomach.

"What time did you go to sleep?"

"3 am."

"3?! Why?!" He semi-yelled.

"Can we talk about it later?" I asked, getting up.

CARLOS

I looked at her face. She looked so drained. I've never seen her this exhausted and tired before. This whole thing is really taking a toll on her. The ring around her pupil was dim.

"Yeah...just stay in here. Sleep." I got out of bed and put on some basketball shorts before stepping outside my door.

I walked downstairs to find the guys sitting around the coffee table.

"If they go to sleep at 1 am, then we can-" Princeton stopped in his tracks and looked at me.

"Why did Kyra go to sleep so late last night?" I asked, taking a seat on the sofa.

"What, she got a curfew?" Chres smirked.

"Answer my damn question."

"She was catching us up on Tre's day to day schedule and routine. So if something happens we know what to do." Prince explained.

"Si pasa algo...si algo sucede puto." I began to curse in Spanish.

"What's the problem? Why are you getting so upset? This is good." Prince said.

"Fuck that. This shit is wearing her down. She already looks exhausted. Drained. Physically, mentally, and emotionally." I raved on.

"It'll all be over soon. And when it's over, you can have your baby sister back with no threats or problems coming her way." Mike shrugged his shoulders.

"No, no I fucking can't! You don't realize what you have done! They find out about her. You don't know if they're spreading word. Trying to recruit more. Trying to expose her. It wouldn't surprise me if another person took intrest in her. For whatever reason they feel is right. Don't you get it? The cycle will keep going on and on. Especially if my sister is as special as you say she is." I raised my voice.

"Nah man. It's not like that. What y'all got goin on down here isn't the same as what we got goin on up there. They're got going to recruit. If anything, he's probably dropping niggas if they're not willing to help him get at me. Because that's his ultimate goal. That's all its ever been. But that doesn't matter. She's going to pull through just fine. She's strong. She's motivated by you every day." Prince said with a look of sincerity on his face.

"What's the plan?" I asked.

"As of now, we wait. When we enter back into our grounds, that's when we go and pick each of them off one by one. Starting with the least important ones first." Ej smirked.

"Wouldn't you wanna take out the big ones first? To leave the least important ones." I questioned.

"Nah. You see, the least important ones are also the most imporant. They handle all of the business. Guns, shelters, everything. They're the suppliers. The major ones are sloppy as hell. I mean, they're all sloppy, but they're not as put together as the suppliers. The major ones just run on the greed of wanting Prince to suffer and wanting Prince dead. They're too uncoordinated and blinded by the thought of Prince to do other shit." Prod scoffed.
