Leion beat Gaia easily. He lost Wallace to Garx but won the match with his own mega pokemon, Mega Abomasnow.
"What an invigorating first round. Pokemon center attendants will be healing all pokemon. We will continue in a few minutes." Maxwell said.
After everyone's pokemon were healed the remaining combatants returned to the arena to be placed again.
"Alright welcome back from that short intermission!" Maxwell said. "Let's get right into the action. In the first arena will be Nyx using dark versus Gryffin using Flying, next to them will be Leion using ice versus Zilla using ghost, next to them will be Melody using normal versus Watts using electric, and last will be Nexus using dragon versus Axton using rock, and begin!" Maxwell called off the names and reminded the audience of the typing.
Leion took position across from Zilla.
"Good luck" He said.
"You too." She responded with a smile.
"Go Banshee!" Leion exclaimed tossing his lead into the court.
"Go Fross!" Zilla said tossing a Froslass into the arena.
"Huh..a Froslass huh?" Leion mused to himself. "Banshee, taunt!"
"Fross quick before she does use taunt!" Zilla tried interrupting same as Gaia had. Banshee was too quick and Fross was taunted.
"Alright Banshee now use Spikes!" Leion commanded his pokemon. Sharp spiked covered his opponents area. Zilla's long purple hair flowed around her."Fross shadow ball!" The ball of pure darkness struck Banshee and did a large amount of damage but it wasn't enough. Even if it was Leion had the focus sash on his Froslass.
"Alright Banshee use Destiny Bond!" Leion used the same trick he did against Gaia. After Zilla's Froslass defeated Banshee with Ice Beam Destiny Bond did its job and took out Fross.
"Go Chad!" Zilla sent out a Chandelure.
"Go Wallace!" Leion sent out his partner.
"Go Chad, Flamethrower!" Zilla commanded. The flames hit Wallace but did very little.
"Wallace, take him out with Surf." Leion was disappointed. He expected a bit of a challenge. The wave of water crashed into the opposing pokemon and it fainted.
"Go Jel!" Zilla tossed a green Jellicent into the battle.
"Wallace Toxic!" Leion commanded. A ball of purple sludge hit the Jellicent and badly poisoned it.
"Shadowball!" Zilla's Jellicent struck Wallace with the same move that had struck Banshee. It had very little effect.
"Wallace, Roar" Leion exclaimed. Wallace yelled at the top of his Walrein lungs and Jel was sent back into its ball and was replaced by a Dusknoir.
"Noir use Shadow Sneak!" The ghost pokemon sunk into the ground and came back up behind Wallace and struck him.
"Wallace use Toxic." Another ball of sludge was released from Wallace and badly poisoned Noir.
"Now use Surf." Leion commanded. A large wall of water crashed into Noir but yet it was still standing.
"Thunder Punch" Noir's fist crackled with electricity and he socked Wallace in the face.
"Wallace use surf again!" Another wave struck the Dusknoir but it still stood.
"Alright Noir Thunder Punch one last time!" When Noir's fist made contact with the Walrein, everything was gone for him. Wallace was sent flying back and didn't get up from where he lay.
"Go Aboma!" Leion sent out his highest attack stat pokemon, the grass and ice behemoth Abomasnow. The Dusknoir had suffered from Toxic to the point that it too collapsed.
"Bane, I choose you!" A Banette landed in the battlefield adjacent to Leion's Abomasnow. Leion touched the stone on his necklace at the same time Zilla touched the stone on her belt. Both pokemon mega evolved.
"Aboma Swords Dance!" The giant pokemon created swords out of ice and started doing some fancy tricks. When it finished the ice went back into Aboma's body.
"Bane, use Taunt." Zilla commanded. The Banette taunted the Abomasnow preventing any more swords dances.
"Bane Will-o-Wisp." Zilla told her pokemon.
"Aboma use Ice shard!" A large spike of ice struck the ghost pokemon in the center of its body.
"You can't be faster than Bane so don't try!" Zilla taunted. "Use shadow sneak!" The Banette copied the same trick Dusknoir did.
"Aboma Ice Shard!" Another chunk of ice hit the opponent.
"Bane use Shadow Sneak one last time!" Zilla commanded her Mega pokemon. Abomasnow collapsed.
"Go Avatable!" Leion exclaimed tossing a giant iceberg like pokemon into the battle.
"Bane use Will-o-Wisp!" a blue flame emitted from the ghost and inflicted a burn status onto Avatable.
"Avatable take it out with Avalanche!" A large pile of ice and snow appeared above the opponent and landed on it defeating it.
"Go Jel!" Zilla sent out her already damaged pokemon. "Use Sludge Wave."
A wall of purple gunk shot from the green pokemon and covered Leion's Avalugg.
"That didn't do much so Avatable use Earthquake." The ground shook violently and two pillars struck the gelatinous pokemon.
"Jel use Sludge Wave again!" The wall of purple liquid barely phased the icy pokemon.
"Avatable use Earthquake one last time!" Leion exclaimed. The two pillars arose again and Jellicent collapsed.
"Go Orn Daron!" Zilla tossed in her last pokemon. A silver colored Golurk landed in the battlefield. "Use Shadow Punch!" The Golurk charged Avalugg and socked him not with an actual fist but with a black aura surrounding the fist.
"Avatable use Avalanche and deal back double the damage!" Leion was getting really into this battle. It's the first battle that took this long Leion has had in four years. Large shards of ice rained onto the Golurk and after enough struck it Golurk fainted. Leion shook Zillas hand and she congratulated Leion on his victory before leaving the stadium, her purple scarf billowing in the wind.
"Alright it seems that the second round is over. What an amazing display by Leion, and Nexus. Now we here like to mess with competition to spice things up. So while that was going on we survey'd the crowd and two combatants will be coming back into the arena! Those two trainers are Vylon and Cyrus!" The crowed cheered as two people stood in the line of trainers who were getting their pokemon healed in preparation for the next round. "Now round three will start! In the first court we have Vylon versus Nexus! The next court will be Leion versus Gryffin, and last we have Melody versus Cyrus. Good luck trainers, and let the battles begin!" As Maxwell spoke the crowd cheered loudly. Leion was surprised he had to battle Gryffin. His last battle was hard enough. Gryffin was Leion's friend but there was no way he was going to let Gryffin win. Leion needed to battle Alex.
"Hey Gryffin." Leion said.
"Hi..heh..I never expected to get this far." Gryffin confessed.
"I'm sorry to say but I can't let you go any further." Leion said sadly.
"I was never going to win, Leion, and I'd rather lose to you than that pompous fool over there, Nexus." Gryffin said glaring at the dragon trainer who had already started his battle.
"Well good luck Gryffin." Leion wished his friend.
"You too Leion. I had a good time. Make sure you beat Nexus when this is all over." Gryffin responded with a wink.
