One day, while walking in the Woods, a boy started to follow me. "Hi." He said with a smile. We walked for awhile and I said "You may remember, or maybe not, but my father is Poseidon and my mother is Aphrodite. Who are your parents?" I ask hoping to find a friend or maybe even a half-brother. He didn't answer me except to say. "I don't get to see my Dad much. Do you get to see your parents often?" "Yes, I do. I answered back, "Do you want to see him right now? I could show you the castle and him." I asked, hoping he would say yes. I really don't want to go down there by myself. "Yeah. Come on. Lets go." he says anxiously.
On our way, we started to duel playfully. Our swords clanked so loudly, you'd think we had a amplifier plugged into our swords. However, the fighting quickly turned from play to anger and after a while, we dropped our swords and fought with our hands and feet. We kept fighting until my Father and some of his army had to pull us apart.
He asked us to come into his office which when we have to go into his office, it means something way worse than getting expelled from any school. It could literally mean a death penalty to becoming the ocean princess. What had just happened? Who was this boy and why were we fighting?
My Father's blue eyes were now filled with confusion and anger. My Father told me to leave the room and I haven't seen that boy since then. That was several years ago.
Now Percy is staring at me. He looks as if his words are choking him as he tries to say something to me. "You're Rockell Jones, the greatest demigod that ever existed?! The one child who has TWO gods for parents?!" Percy asks excitedly. I nod my head. He picks me up and spins me around. I ask him to stop after I get a little dizzy. While Percy is a kid in a candy store. I'm not following what he is thinking. Soon, Annabeth finds us sitting by the lake. She had smoke coming out of her ears so fast it was whistling. I don't think Percy notice because he didn't say anything. Annabeth came marching up to him and started screaming at him.
"I thought I was the 'greatest demigod ever' and the 'most intelligent demigod ever'! You called me those things and promised me that you would never say that to anyone else, but me! Only ME! I can't believe you, us, all we've been through! And this is how you treat me! With a disrespectful attitude!" she snaps at him. Percy looked like he could blow up any minute, but he let Annabeth walk off.
"You don't see it. You don't remember." I was confused and didn't understand what he was trying to say. "I ... I am Percy Jackson. But I am also your half brother. My powers are opposite of yours and our Father knew who we were and that we couldn't survive being together so he sent me away and left you in the Kingdom. After being expelled 3 times, I end up here, seeing you." He paused which I was grateful for. My head was spinning while I tried to process what he was saying. "Rockell, I am the friend in the picture you carry. I am the boy who fought you in the woods. That's why our hands burned when we touched each other earlier."
I was shocked and it took me back. Yes, it was him. I did remember! Those feelings of wanting to punch him in the stomach or making him want to bleed, those were because our powers were fighting against the other.
"Oh Percy!" I exclaimed as I went to give him a hug, but something stopped us both. Some sort of force field and we realized, still nothing had changed.
"We can't be together, can we?" I said to him with the look of grief on my face.
"No, we can't and our parents knew it all along. They tried to keep us apart only to have us fall into each others lives accidentally. For the sake of us both, we will have to be separated only to know that the other exists." We were both feeling our powers grow stronger and stronger and knew we'd be in trouble if we stayed closer any longer. "Good bye, Rockell. I won't ever forget this moment". And he walked away. I know that we can not be together, as a family, but why does it have to be like this?
I met back up with my Friends and told them who Percy was and why he had to leave.
"It's too bad, you know. I mean you finally got a friend that understands you a lot and now he's gone. Did you get his phone number? Maybe you can talk to each other." Ryan asked.
"Maybe. Or we might see each other over the summer." I said.
"That will be really fun. So are you going to be in Aphrodite or Poseidon cabin?" Gordon asked me. He is a child of the goddess of love and beauty. My step brother.
"I don't know. It depends if Percy goes this year, or if he's going to go on another prophecy." Just the thought of him going on another dangerous mission brought an uneasy wave of nerves in my stomach.
