The smell of flowers instantly relaxes me. It's high up on my favourite smells list, along with freshly cut grass that's just been rained on, river water and Freshly made dinky donuts.

A little old lady with grey curled hair, wearing an apron over a blue dress walked up to us. She went straight to Darren and asked if he was buying for his mum again, to which he told her no, he had come for me.

The little lady turned and looked at me. I began to tell her what I needed, she took out a notepad and pencil from her apron and jotted down the list I reeled off to her. When I got to the last two lots of flowers, I asked if she could show me a sample.

"I'm not being picky, honestly. The people I am buying these for, asked specifically for roses as red as blood and black as night, and if I don't get it right I wont get paid"

By the end I was almost pleading with the little lady. Darren must have known something was wrong because he put his arm around me and started to speak to the woman.

"I'm sure you won't mind showing Samantha some samples, if her getting paid depends on it"

The little lady agrees and hurries off to fetch some samples. I noticed Darren has a way with old ladies, this one seemed to like him and be comfortable around him.

The lady returned carrying the most beautiful red and black roses. I took one of the black ones and held it to the light. I saw Darren looking at me with a confused look on his face, which changed to amazement as he saw the rose turn a deep blue the moment the light hit it.

"Oh….My…..They are…..I mean….They are beautiful" I stammer and realize I am gushing over flowers in front of the hottest guy I had ever met.

"Sorry, I just love them, these are my favourite flowers, and these specific ones are perfect, I will take them" I tell the old lady as I hand back the flower.

"Can I have a second?" Darren asks the old lady as he ushers her away.

I carried on looking around the shop whilst Darren was speaking to the lady.

A few minutes later he returns and we make our way to the next shop.
