I stood there in complete silence. I saw Lewis slump down into the sofa, and hide his face in his hands. I was in shock. What did he just say? Did I hear him right?

"...what?" I whisper. He takes a deep breath and stands up. He walks over to me and looks me straight in the eye.

"I love you" He whispers. He was so close to my face. His dark blonde hair brushed against my forehead. He stroked one of my arms as he waits for a response. "Please tell me you feel the same way"

"I'm sorry but I don't. I love Jack and we are getting married in two months." I say unfreezing from my spot and moving away. I lean against the work surface, yet Lewis stayed perfectly still.

"Tell me something, are you 100% sure you love and want to marry Jack Harries?"

"I do, I love him with all of my heart. I want to spend the rest of my life with him. I'm sorry"

"Thats fine, it just means I can't come to your wedding. I can't be friends with you anymore. I love you and I cannot stand to see you with that bastard. I'm sorry, but ever since you two got together, I have hated him. So if you are 100% sure, I would ask you to leave. It makes everything easier."

"What?! Makes it eaiser on who? You? Lewis you are my bestfriend, I can't just cut you out of my life"

"FRIEND! That is all I hear, I wanted more than someone you just see a friend in"

"Lewis..."

"You love Jack, and I can see that. I just wanted closure. Please leave, and for the final time I will not be attending the wedding" He says gesturing towards the door. I leave in a daze. What the hell just happened? I lean against the door and try to gather my thoughts.

"There you are, I've been looking all over for you. Whats up?" I see Jack coming from around the corner.

"Erm, Lewis isn't coming" I say, still in a complete daze.

"Are you okay?" Jack asked me

"No, not really. I think I just lost my best friend"

"I'm sure you two can work past this." He says smiling.

"Nope. He pretty much said our friendship was over."

"Why?"

"I'll tell you when we get home" I say brushing past him. When we arrive home, I tell Jack everything. About how Lewis told me he loved me, about how our friendship was over, about how Lewis resented Jack, Everything. I had to talk about it, but I didn't want to have to repeat it.

"Everything will be fine, it will all blow over." Jack says reluctantly. I finally understood the tension between Jack and Lewis. After a few hours, I took a walk. I had to take a moment to organise my thoughts and come to terms with losing my oldest, and closest friend. I had remembered the night, when Jack and I were fighting. Dan was a good person to talk to, I walk to Dan's apartment hoping I could talk to him. I knock on the door and Dan answers.

"I need your help" I tell him

"Sure whats up" He says gesturing me inside. I walk into the empty living room, and sit on the sofa.

"It's Lewis"

"Whats happening?" So I told him the story. He was a good ear, and I could just talk to him. I could relax, and not have to worry about a thing. I felt like Dan was an older brother I could rely on.

"Woah. I never thought you and Lewis would stop being friends. You two have been friends forever. I hope it will blow over. Look you have enough stuff to worry about. Get the wedding over with. Relax and come back to the problem."
