Tick,Tick,Tick,Tick....waiting for the clock to turn 12:00. It's 11;59. 1 minute to go. I have been impatient all morning. I want to know what it is that Dr.Fondont was frowning about. We were called down to child phsycology again..."Johnny,Kathy,and Vidia Briskette to child physcology." said the intercom. Dr.Fondont was really nice and greeted us at the elevator floor.

"Hi my little princess, How are you doing?" Dr.Fondont bent down to ask me her white coat barely grazing the floor. Oh, there it was that feeling of me wanting to have a white coat. But I ignored that feeling I need to know what Dr. Fondant was frowning about yesterday.

"I'm a little soar, but pretty much okay." I replied sweetly

"That's wonderful. Now if you all wouldn't mind following me to my office."  Dr. Fondont directed

Fondant ran through a full scale physical. Height and weight check, reflexes, etc. Charting everything as we went. Finally we sit down and get to talking about yesterday.

"Now, I wanted to inform you that.. um" stuttered the doctor

"What is it doctor?" asked Johnny with parental concern

Dr.Fondont's eyes started welling up with tears just thinking about how to break the news to us.

"The reason why I have called you here today is because yesterday I was trying to grasp the thought of telling you the news.."

"What news?" Mommy asked with a worried expression

"Vidia's white blood cell count is very low....which causes in the fact that Vidia has a case called acute lymphoceytic luekemia causing luekemic blasts in the blood flow and bone marrow"

"Wait what is acute lymphoceytic luekemia?"

"Cancer... I am so sorry."

Mom's eyes welled up with tears she couldn't hold it in. She covered her mouth and started crying. Silenty though as if she didn't want anyone to her but, everyone could see the internal pain that was boiling inside her. I didn't understand. What was luekemia? Why was it so bad? "Vidia is going to have to be hospitalized right away I will allow you to take her home tonight but, bring her back tomorrow in this hospital gown. Her room will be in Acute Syndrome hallway, in room D213....Again I am so sorry."

Remember when I said Dr.Fondont was a nice lady we'll she was gonna be my best friend for a long time.
