synopsis

Giselle Miranda devoted the majority of her life to ballet. A dance prodigy, her family called her... until an accident changed everything. Her father was dead, and Giselle's life spiraled away from her control, leaving her with too many questions and so few answers. The fire was an accident, according to everyone, but she knew better. Someone had murdered her father, and left the sixteen-year-old with no other options but to move in with her aunt. She spent the next three years trying to learn forensics, trying to prove, somehow, that the fire wasn't the accident everyone was making it out to be. She dropped out of ballet, and learned as much about criminals as possible. Someone had set that fire, and she was going to find them and make them pay for what they had done.

At nineteen years old, S.H.I.E.L.D. approached her. Being an agent ran in her family, and they wanted her. She saw an opportunity: to find her dad's killer with their resources. With a year's worth of training, she became a pretty good shot, and a quick thinker, especially when faced with the strangest of situations. But her hunt for her father's killer only paused while she trained. It had consumed her, and she wasn't just going to stop. She studied criminology and forensics, trying to learn as much as possible in order to find him.

A ballerina turned agent. She didn't care what anyone else said: her passion for ballet had fueled her, and then her need to find justice for her father had forced her to leave that behind. Eventually, she would return to ballet, once she found her father's killer. But until she did, S.H.I.E.L.D. was where she belonged. And then, aliens invaded New York City.

She was twenty four years old, and everything changed in a few short hours. S.H.I.E.L.D. was suddenly out in the open. People died, and a group of superheroes that S.H.I.E.L.D. had put together saved the world. But people were scared, and someone needed to stay in the shadows, doing work for the agency as a team. A mobile response unit. And they had room for an agent like her.

But this team would become more than just a team, and their first mission would prove exactly why people like them belonged together.
