"Edmund! Get up boy! You're getting late for your exam!" His father shouted from the living room.
..Edmund kicked the sheets away and quickly got up to take a bath.
He was a diligent, hardworking child. He worked hard and helped his parents in the tiny restaurant.
His parents owned a small noodle shop attached to the house. Edmund would stop by and would wash dishes just before going to his part time job.

He came out of the bathroom wearing a proper dress shirt and pants. He brushed his Brown hair and fixed his collar. You see, Edmund was half english and half korean. His mother was the daughter of a lawyer in England.
One time, when his mother came to korea with her father for vacations, they visited his fathers parents little bakery. Edmunds father was twenty two and his mother was nineteen back then when they first met. It was something like love at first sight for both of them. Edmunds father wasn't really that charming according to the standard but his mother would always say, "your father was the most charismatic and charming man in Korea.." of course, her father was against them being together but..God knows what made him change his mind and edmunds parents got married three years later.
And they started living in Korea.
They worked hard. But they never got tired of eachother and God gave them a beautiful baby boy who was a blessing indeed.
"But how did they communicate?" The boy sitting next to Edmund asked
"Well..my father studied hard. And so did my mother. For two years straight they went to a place to study the respective languages. That's love" edmund replied
"Waah I want to experience something like that as well" the boy said
"Haha..well..best of luck for that and..for the exam! Right now we need to focus on this" Edmund laughed
"So you're a hybrid" The boy asked
"Don't I look a little different than the other kids around me?" Edmund asked
"Yea..yea you do..wow. nice to meet you!" The boy said
"Hahaha..pleasure. Edmund Lee." Edmund shook hands
"Kim Jae kyun, you've told me how your parents met and..I already consider you as a friend. Lets exchange emails later! " the boy said
"Sure why not!" Edmund smiled and looked away.
The entrance exam was about to begin.

"Hey! Edmund!" Jae kyun waved at him and ran after Edmund.
"Oh..jae..what is it?" Edmund asked covering his eyes from the sun rays
"Email." Jae handed Edmund a piece of paper. Edmund smiled and waved that piece of paper in his hands and left.

"How was the exam?" Edmunds mum asked as she put a glass of cold water in front of Edmund.
Edmund saw the water drops racing down the glass and nodded, "it was easier than I expected it to be. I did my best" Edmund looked at his mother, who smiled and caressed his cheek.
"I'm proud of you.." she whispered. Edmund held her hand and intertwined his fingers with hers, "even so..I'll make you prouder." He smiled
"Hey boy! Clean that table and wash the dishes!" His father, mr.lee shouted from the kitchen
"Heyyy, let him dry his sweat. Look how blazing hot it is out there. Edmund, go home and rest. I'll take care of things here." His mother said
"No it's alright mum. You should rest. You look so pale and tired. Go home, apply a face mask. Pamper yourself." Edmund gulped down his glass of water and got up.
"I don't require face masks to get rid of my tiredness..I just want my boys to be with me." Mrs.lee fixed the sauces on the table.
"Boys? Mum, dad's not a boy anymore. " Edmund laughed
"He sure is." Mrs.lee looked towards the kitchen and smiled seeing her husband working hard in there.
"Haha..for you..yea. okay I'll get to work now!" Edmund said as he wore an apron and started cleaning the tables.
"They'll be alright without me. I'll go rest now.." mrs.lee whispered as she saw Edmund and her husband playing around in the kitchen. She smiled as she left.
