Lilac

He grabbed me by my shoulders then the world went blurry for at least half a second then I saw I was standing outside on the pavement looking at the school building. His slender pale hands were still gripping my shoulders, and I looked around wondering how I just got here. Oh my god! I whipped around and glared up at him.

"Where's Roxi!? Why didn't you save her!" I punched him as hard as I could at his stomach and he didn't so much as flinch but he did get annoyed.

"You're my main interest and the demon's main interest so Rock's should be fine." He said so casually then held my wrists. He didn't need to because I stopped after my hands were getting sore and might get bruises. Curse vampires and their iron skin.

"It's Roxi you heartless wanker! Now let go of me!"

"A wanker...?" He shook his and pulled me along with him trying to drag me to his car. I struggled pulling myself away, I tried to hurt him but my attempts were all failures just like me. Suddenly he just stopped and he turned around starring at me worriedly. "Little one, run home. Don't go back into the school to get your friend just run home." He ordered then glanced over his shoulder.

"Why?" I asked then tasted the sourness in my mouth again. If he's worried I should definitely be worried.

"Just go." He tore off my backpack and and turned away so I ran back to the school doors much to his dismay but he didn't stop me. Roxi has never left me behind and I will never ever abandon her. I stormed through and felt more scared then ever, Mr Haynes took my backpack so I don't even have that to help me out. Not that I have anything useful in it. Except for homework and how many people can say that their homework was stolen by a vampire and actually mean it? Ugh not the time to be funny. I need to use something against this beast. I need dad... I bolted to one of the school's closets and searched inside for something useful but unfortunately there are only broom, buckets, mops and bottles full chemicals that hopefully could maybe blind the monster so I grabbed some can of bug spray. I broke the broom to use it as a spear then stepped out and ran to where I last was. Roxi lay sprawled on the floor in a pool of her own blood and up far away from her lay the beast covered in its own black gooey blood. I kept hold of the equipment and ran to her to kneel down at her head. Her hands are covered in the monsters blood and her clothes are torn as well as some of her hair being ripped out from her skull. But the beast lay dead and I'm praying Roxi hasn't suffered the same fate.

"Roxi?" I whispered and moved her now loose hair off her face. I sobbed and felt my eyes start to form tears. Her face is fine except for the cut under her jaw.... "Roxi wake up." I begged and she didn't stir so I shook her a little not caring that her blood is spilling onto me. What do I do? She has to wake up! That stupid vampire! I should have stayed to help her and he had to drag me out. "I'm so sorry." A low grumble sound came from the monster and I snapped my head at it feeling a burning hate for this ugly, mutant beast. Literally a burning.... He struggled standing up but when he caught my scent he glared at me and I glared back. "I will kill." I growled and he growled back. "Slowly and painfully..."     He understands me because he bared his long yellow teeth, the few he has left anyway. Well done Roxi, I hope I do you proud. I hope you come back to me. He roared loudly and I don't understand how classes are still going. Then I realised I was in hallway where there were empty classrooms. You've got to be kidding me! Of course with my luck! Something bad is always bound to happen! But not to Roxi no it should have been me! I should been with her! I screamed loudly, my cry of a firing rage. My whole body is burning so I closed my eyes feeling a searing pain coming out from me. And when I opened them fire was everywhere, fire is everywhere radiating off me. I'm on fire! And the monster was running away crying and burning up. I whipped my head in several directions looking horrified at everything. Everything is on fire and the fire alarm has gone off. The annoying warning noise is hurting my ears and I started crying in pain as the fire started burning me.

"Stop!" I screamed falling to my knees and everything went quiet. Except for the alarm, but it's all distant now. I can hear everything but I can't understand it. I heard screaming but I can't see anything anymore. I think I'm going to be sick....

✨💫✨

I gasped awake and in pain all over my body. Not to mention sweating like a penguin living in the Sahara. I checked my surroundings and myself in a uncomfortable hospital bed, in a white room with floor and a little old tv up in the corner. I groaned as I struggled sitting myself up and then the door swung open and my dad strolled in holding a KFC bucket full of fried chicken. Often I would drool but I'm in so much pain and then it hit me.

"Where's Roxi?!" I asked urgently and he kept that blank expression that always tells me nothing useful. It's his pokerface.

"She's in surgery. She's lucky to be alive." He sat down on a chair beside my bed and placed the bucket next to my legs. "I don't know when she'll be out but I know she'll be fine. Now explain to me what happened?" I mentally winced at the image of Roxi laying sprawled on the floor in a pool of her own blood. Dad has always taught me to not pond over scary memories. Don't let them run you're life and don't let them keep you silent. But I don't want to explain what happened, it's too horrifying. But dad doesn't wait patiently he wants answers straight away so he can everything over with. He doesn't really think about other people's feelings. How I think I might be dying inside...

"A demon attacked us at the school. He was chasing us down after we saw Mr Haynes the vampire." He shuffled in his seat and his forehead creased.

"A vampire and what kind of demon?"

"I don't know. Just a big furry one with spikes down along his back and yellow eyes with no pupils. He also had a flat face.." I added and my father just sat there blankly then grabbed a chicken leg and bit a chunk off.

"Have some rest. Later tonight I willsneak in and get you out of here and we'll move to..."

"Move? Again? Can't we stay a little longer..." There's a party one of Jesse's friends is holding and we're all invited to go. I could spend some more time with Jesse before I leave. Oh my god how can I be thinking about that when Roxi is in surgery. I started panicking and breathing hysterically and my dad grabbed my hand comfortingly.

"Lilac? Lilac calm down we'll stay longer alright. Now rest a little longer I'll be here." He said softly making me lie down and somehow exhaustion hit me like a tidal wave.
