||Emery June Dun||
If I thought that my migraine yesterday was bad, it was literally nothing compared to this. I begin to shuffle around, and a weight at the end of my bed is suddenly gone.
"Fucking migraines on fucking Sundays, fucking hell, this sucks," I grumble, hearing a familiar laugh of my colourful haired brother.
"Morning Emery. Did you have a fun night?" He teases, and I move to throw my pillow at him. Catching it, Josh puts it back under my head, and a well known scowl crosses my face.
"Josh,"
"Mhmm sugar plum?"
"Would you kindly fuck off?"
"I would but mom tasked me with watching over you like a hawk," He answers easily, and my scowl deepens.
"Then be like a hawk and fuck off," I open one eye slightly, and wince as the bright light of the room shines into it. "And turn off the lights."
"What's the magic word?" Josh asks, batting his eyelashes.
"Hurry the fuck up before I punch you in the Holy spot?" I suggest, and Josh frowns, looking at me straight in my half open eye.
"That is way wrong."
I sigh, looking up some. "Please?"
His usual smile crosses his face, and he reaches over, a small snap and suddenly, my eye isn't burning. "That's the word."
"I'm guessing mom's waiting for me to chew me out?" I huff, opening my eyes all the way.
"Something like that," Josh agrees, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Then out," I throw my pillow at my brother once again. "Let me get changed," Josh let's out a laugh, dropping my pillow onto my clothes covered floor, and leaving me to be in my room, alone.
Letting out a groan as I slide out of my bed, I look down at what I'm wearing, only to find that I am not in what I wore yesterday.
It's one of the shirts that Tyler always has over here, a old Fall Out Boy shirt that he got as a gift one year.
It's comfy, so I end up just putting on a random pair of jeans, that after an quick look over, I deem alright, and pulling my hair into a ponytail.
The first step that I take out of my room, I notice that Mom is sitting at the counter, drinking a coffee with the TV off. A sure sign that there's going to be a important conversation.
"Good morning. Did you enjoy yourself until almost midnight?" Her voice is cool and sharp, cutting through me like a knife.
"I've had better," I grumble, taking the stairs step by step, and noticing that she's turned to look at me.
"After your little....meltdown last night, I've decided that you being at home isn't the best plan," I raise an eyebrow, and she smiles.
Well, fuck me up down and sideways.
"Since you're dead set on having a say, I'm going to give you a choice. You can go to stay at a institution of my choice, or you can go with your brother, and listen to everything he says."
"Go with Josh where? To live in his mess of a bedroom?" I retort, and Josh let's out a snort.
"You can go to the institution, or go with your brother," She repeats, and I smirk.
"Where do you think I'm going to go? With Josh, obviously."
"Go pack then. You'll be leaving with him in a few days," Returning her full attention to her coffee, I take it as I'm allowed to leave, and I turn, finding myself face to face with my blue haired brother.
A smile is dancing across his lips. "It's gonna be great. I swear! All the places that we're going, I've heard that they're super cool," Raising an eyebrow, a small smile slides onto my face.
"What exactly am I doing with you?"
"You're going with me and Tyler. It'll be fun, I promise," he pats my shoulder, hurrying towards his bedroom door, and dissappears into it.
A few days, and then I'm away from my mom. A few days and I'm away from this town. A few days and I can be an adult.
