Rosa's POV
"Um...I mean... I could write the paper and you can just... do whatever... I already have most of the information..." I quietly said as I placed out my Physic notes on the school library table. I wanted to get this project done and over with. Not because I was working with Cooper, but because I wanted the paper to be perfect. This paper counts 50% of our grade and it it goes wrong in any way, this could ruin my chances in getting into A honor roll.
I'm a nerd... I already know.
Cooper was sitting down in a chair while I paced to get all my materials out. He observed me with an odd look, like I was scaring him.
"Or..." He started off as he stood up and got in front of me so our chest practically pressed together. "I can help." He whispered.
I nodded lightly and looked down embarrassed.
"S-sorry... I uh, this is 50% of our grade-"
"I'm well aware... I read the syllabus..." He interrupted me.
"So, I want this to be the best paper I ever wrote." I ignored his comment.
"The best paper we ever wrote." He corrected.
"Okay Cooper... "I sighed. "Just... find whatever you can and tell me when you find any valuable information." I picked up a book on Vector Components, the subject we are currently learning about and began to scan the pages before reading. The book had to be a college level book, but luckily, I was reading at a college level pace.
Cooper was getting out his laptop like every other persons in the Library. I was the only person holding an actual physical book. Before reading the book, I slyly looked up from the book and say Cooper, resting one elbow on the table and a hand to his chin, reading whatever was on his laptop screen. I stared at his eyes, which would scan the screen. I knew I shouldn't have stared at him, knowing I would get caught:
"Is my face more interesting than your book?" Cooper said casually, not looking up whatsoever. My eyes have neverr darted down to a book so quickly in my entire life. But I was sure my face has flushed about 100 times over the school year so far.
Cooper stood up from his chair and walked next to me to my side and squatted so we were eye level. He leaned his head forward which caused my heart to pound harder from the lack of space that was between him and I. He then grabbed the book from me, and flipped it.
"Your book was upside down..." He whispered sweetly to me, although I still felt like an idiot.
Oh my god...
I bit my lip and looked away from him. But, he took his hand and gently moved it so I was looking at him directly. His arm was still near my face and I saw the same sweatband he had on. I had the urge to rip it off his arm but I kept my composure. He noticed I was looking at his arm, and pulled away from me, which made my heart drop.
Not this time.
I grabbed his arm and pulled it towards me and ripped of the band. There it was:
A bird tattoo, the same as his necklace which happened to be off today. A Flicker.
"You liar..." I stood up and walked off. He stood up and grabbed my arm again but I forced his grip off me and walked over to a far away section. The Romance section.
How lovely.
I stayed in the corner of the section for about 10 minutes and felt a tear come down as I read the book. I could hardly concentrate. I didn't know why i was so upset either to be honest... I was just upset. Like i was betrayed... I put down the book and stood up, and absentmindedly looked through the books. I then glanced and saw Cooper was gone, but i didn't give my hopes up...
