Prince Taegen was strong and fit, and the kind of guy that any princess would love. But he wasn't the attraction for Rose. His sister was.

Taegen came to win Rose's hand, and he brought his sister, the beautiful Princess Alyssa, with him. Everyone had heard of Alyssa. She was considered the most beautiful girl in the twelve kingdoms, possibly even in the world, and princes followed her like ducklings follow a mother duck. But unknown to nearly everyone, she was a feminist and fought for equal female rights. This was unheard of for most people. Women stand at an equal status to men? Women have the same rights as men? Women are equal to men? But she was not only a feminist she was something else. Something her parents were horrified by. Something that was the same as Rose.

Taegen was very self-obsessed and his eyes no one was better than himself. This was probably why he and Prince Tiarshus did not get a long. They both thought they were the only person in the world who really mattered, when really they were the most idiotic people in the world. Taegen didn't really mesh with the other princes either. Prince Edyrm seemed to spend his life hidden away with Tilde in dark corners, deserted rooms and secret passages. No one was told what they did, but no one was sure they wanted to know either. Prince Sandevv left the palace at dawn and returned at dusk, with either some meat for the dinner table, or a dragon head. And Prince Hoccar spent the day running after Edyrm and Tilde, discovering where they were and trying to convince Tilde that he should be the one spending the day with her, not Edyrm.

And so all in all it was obvious that none of these princes were people Rose would actually ever like. If she had to choose one it would probably end up being Sandevv, he seemed the nicest, and was always very polite to everyone. But he was boring, and spent the day hunting, and he was a staunch meat-eater. Rosilda was a vegetarian. She happened to so very like Alyssa, and they soon spent every waking moment with each other. If you didn't really know them you'd have said they were just very close friends, which they were, but they were also more than that.

For you see Alyssa and Rosilda were lesbians.
