Raven ties my hands with rope - I guess she doesn't trust me. Cayden carries Kyle over his back while Raven pushes me towards the car.

We drive in silence for about thirty minutes, and all I can think about is Cayden's little sister. I think her name is Layla, but why did he never tell me she had cancer? I suddenly feel so ashamed, blaming myself for believing a stupid cop. I should've known better than to believe Cayden was capable of stealing drugs only for money. If it was Auby who was sick, I would've done the same exact thing.

Silent tears begin to run down my cheek because I know I've lost him. He'll never trust me again.

We pull into a series of apartments which I only assume is where Raven lives. I don't like her, not because she knocked Kyle out with a plank of wood, but because something seems off about her. I don't trust her, even though Cayden seems to. Even being around her makes me edgy. I don't know if it's because she seems like such a bad ass, or if she's been through hell, but I definitely don't wanna get on her bad side.

Kyle still isn't awake, so Cayden carries him into the apartment complex. I'm left with Raven literally shoving me up the stairs. My face burns with anger. Boy would I love to punch her in the face.

We go all the way to the top floor, and Raven opens up the door to her apartment. Kyle is placed on a couch, and I'm thrown into a chair beside the couch. Literally, I'm thrown.

The ropes around my hands have begun to rub my skin apart, making me tear up from the pain. I try to make eye contact with Cayden, but he refuses to look at me.

"I'll go get us some supplies and something to eat. You stay here and make sure they don't escape," Raven says to Cayden.

Cayden nods as she walks out the door. He still refuses to look my way.

"Cayden, I'm so sorry," I plead.

"Your words mean nothing to me, Alaska. You betrayed me. You don't deserve my respect."

Immediately I want to cry. His words cut deeper than a knife, wrenching out my heart.

"Why didn't you tell me Layla had cancer?"

"Because it's none of your business."

"But you're my soulmate."

Cayden snorts. "You lost that privilege the moment you started helping the cops."

"I wouldn't have done it had you just told me she was dying!!"

"Shut the hell up Alaska!"

Cayden's eyes are red and bulging, clearly furious. I'm almost terrified for a second because I've never seen him like this. It looks as though he may kill me at any second.

Part of me wishes he would.

Kyle starts to moan and groan, so Cayden walks over to him, undoing his handcuffs so one is tied to the couch and the other to his hand. Eventually Kyle comes to, but he's immediately met face to face with Cayden's fist.

"Stop!" I scream.

"Dude, come on," Kyle moans.

"He got knocked out with a plank of wood, Cayden. Give him a break," I scold.

"Don't tell me what to do, Alaska. I'm not the one tied up right now."

Cayden punches him one last time, and then gets up, walking towards me. He undoes the rope around my hands, but then to my disappointment, he pushes me to the opposite side of the couch Kyle is on and ties my hands to it.

"What if I have to pee?" I ask.

"Not my couch, not my problem."

Cayden walks away, heading towards the kitchen, and I immediately lean as close to Kyle as I can.

"Are you okay?" I ask.

Kyle spits a mixture of blood and saliva onto the wood floor and then answers: "Yea I'm good."

"I'm so sorry I got you into this," I whisper, nervously glancing towards Cayden's direction.

"It's not your fault. I should've called for back up, and you never should've been allowed to come with me in the first place. It's too dangerous."

I snort. "Yea I think I can see that."

Kyle smiles, but then his faces slowly fades to a frown. He looks at me, staring deep into my eyes, and for a moment, I'm captivated. Never in my life has someone looked at me this way, and I certainly never expected it from Kyle.

"What?" I ask.

"You should be at home, Alaska, with Auby and your parents, but instead you're tied to a couch with not even a single hope of Danner finding out where we are. I failed you," he sighs.

"Hey," I say, nudging my knee against his ribs. "We'll be alright. I promise."

"Aren't I supposed to be promising you things like that?" He laughs.

"You got knocked out with a plank of wood. By a girl. I think it's safe to say that I'm the one with balls in this fiasco," I smirk.

Kyle laughs harder, but then he starts to cough, spewing more blood and saliva onto the floor. I suddenly become worried. He needs medical attention, and I know that I'm his best shot at getting out of here as quickly as possible.

I don't know Raven, but I do know Cayden. If I can break him, he'll let me go, and then I can find Danner and end this whole thing. But just as I'm about to speak up, Raven opens the door and carries in a handful of bags. Immediately my stomach catches in my throat.

She said she was going to the grocery store for food and supplies, but only one bag has food. The rest have an assortment of blades, syringes, knifes, and worse.

This kidnapping has just turned into my worse case scenario.

Kyle and I are about to be tortured.
