Clary's P.O.V:

"And make sure Rafael gets to bed, 8:30 the latest." Alec eyed me and Jace as if we were going to cause trouble. "What about Max?" Jace asked, fiddling with my fingers. "He is at a friends house, so he will be dropped off at the restaurant with us. I don't think there's much else, so see you in little bit." Magnus rolled his eyes at seeing how worried Alec was. "Come on, Alec." Magnus groaned, tapping his foot. Alec spun around and headed towards the sparkling portal. "And don't forget to-" Magnus shut the portal, leaving me, Jace and Rafael the only ones in the room.

"Do you want to play a board game?" I asked Rafe, who was being a little shy.
"Sure." Jace piped up. "I wasn't talking to you." I laughed. Jace looked at me in confusion. "I was talking to Rafael." Rafe turned around when he heard me call his name. "You can call me Rafe like daddy does." He mumbled. My eyes twinkled in excitement; we were atleast getting somewhere with this conversation.
"But to answer your question, I'll play a board game. Only if I pick it out though." Rafe teased as he galloped over to a big gigantic stack of games. "Wow." Jace exclaimed, his eyes searching the whole shelf. " Daddy says he's a collector." I giggled at rafe's statement. If Magnus had these many board games, I wonder how much glitter he had. My mind pictured an unimaginable amount, but I knew it wasn't that  much. Slowly drifting back to reality, Rafe pulled a game out of the rack. The ground shook as the shelf was tearing towards us. My instincts wanted to go to Jace, but I had to protect Rafe, so I slammed my hand into rafe's leg as I scooped him up and jumped before the rack fell. I felt as if I was flying with rafael, but he was just cracking up. As I landed gracefully on my feet. Rafe almost fell out of my grip, giving me a mini heart attack. Now I know what it feels like to be a parent. I sighed as I released Rafe, setting him go like a lost bird. He flew over to Jace before I could, making me happy he cared about Jace that much. By the time I got over there, Rafe and Jace were both talking about something, probably planning to set a trap on me. I smirked as I snatched the board game off the ground. Scattergories. Never heard of that game. I skimmed through the description, but out of the corner of my eye, I saw a flash of yellowness. Jace. Turning around, I was left to find nobody there. No Jace. Or Rafe. So that's what they were talking about. Dropping Scattergories, I hopped over the cracked shelf, not even cleaning it up. "Jace." I called through the eerie hallway. There were no lights on, and since I didn't know where the light switches were, I was left in the darkness. As I ventured more throughout the house, I noticed there was a track of glitter. Magnus. But, Magnus wasn't home. Rafe. I tipptoed on the glittery path, following it carefully. Just as I looked up from my toes, a person was in my face. I screamed as I slapped the person right on the cheek. "Ouch." It was a familiar voice, too familiar. "Jace?" I squinted, trying to look at him again. "Oops, I thought you were someone else." Jace grunted as he asked me, "and what was that for?" I was guessing he meant the slap, so I had the perfect answer. "The other ten percent." I grinned, and Jace did too, making us both start cracking up. "Haha, so funny. But in all seriousness, we need to find Rafe." Jace attempted to show a serious face, but just resulted in me laughing again. "Weren't you planning this with him? You should know where he is!" "Clary, we were hiding. Its not like a have a walkie-talkie, saying 'where are you?'. Although that would be a good idea." Jace shook his shoulders. "It's like hide and go seek." I recalled back to my mundane lifestyle. "And what is that?" I loved it when Jace gave me that look, he looked at me like I had 3 heads. "No time to explain. You just look for Rafe to the right. I'll be at the left side." Jace jumped over to the next room as I peered to the right. Shivers went up my spine, like spiders were crawling up me. My skin got chilly and before I knew it, I already had goosebumps. I jogged into the bathroom as I heard a crying noise. As I opened the door, and saw Rafe crying. There was no light, but I could see fear in his eyes as he swiped his tears away. My heart sank, what made Rafe so upset?
