The wolves created a circle around the two alphas. It was not going to be an all out blood bath, it was just between the two and who ever came out alive would lead them all. Levi studied the other alpha, Luke, trying to figure out his weaknesses but could find none. He kept his weight center, leaning neither to the right or left. Levi never saw the attack coming. With one quick lunge and a swipe from Luke’s huge paw, Levi was down and bleeding. Struggling to get up, he whined. Luke shifted back into human form and glared down at Levi.

“I have been Alpha for these last few years. Did you really think I would just give it back if you asked?? Your pathetic. For the reassurance that you will never pass your genes along, you will not be given treatment for your wound. We will sit here and you will bleed to death. Slow and painful, just like you did my wife.” Seeing the confused look on the other wolf’s face, Luke laughed. “This is sad. You don’t even remember. Five years ago, my mate and wife came into your territory. She was a rogue at the time but before she could come to you and ask your permission to be here, your guards caught her and you sentenced her to death because of what she was. She was no threat to you but you gave her no chance. You are heartless. I plotted and trained to overthrow you, but when I saw what your weakness was, your daughter, I knew it was time. I hired someone to rape her, knowing you would come to her rescue. It was perfect. I don’t know why I didn’t kill you then. Guess I enjoyed reveling in the glory that I caught you. Speaking of your daughter….where did she go?”

While Luke was rambling on about everything, Jo has snuck away, taking John with her. She had to find Hope and run. It was not safe here for her until she was stronger. A howl pierced the afternoon silence, followed by the sound of wolves crashing through the forest. Reaching the city, she focus on Hope and felt the tug that will always lead her to Hope, only it was coming from the outskirts of town.

‘Uncle John, I need you to lay down on me. Your ruining my aerodynamics. I can go faster.’ Doing as he was told, Jo was able to pick up speed and get to Hope. Not bothering to knock or shift back, she crashed through the door, growling at the people who took her precious daughter. Jason froze where he was and began speaking in soft tones.

“Jo, we’ve been worried about you. I took care of Hope for you and she’s fine, I promise. You can ask her. She’s been clean and well fed.” Jo looked her over and sniffed her to reassure herself that everything was fine. Finally, she calmed down enough to speak to Jason.

‘We have to leave. Me and Hope are not safe. My father is dead and I have to go train to take his place as Alpha. As for why I was kidnapped, I will explain everything when we stop for the night but we have to go…NOW. Hand me my daughter so I can leave.’

“Hand you your daughter. But you can not carry both.”

‘Watch me’ Jo growled out.

“No, I am going to come with you. I will explain why later but judging for the amount of wolves I hear heading this direction, we need to go now. No time to grab clothes. John, take my wallet. You’re the only one with pockets and while me and Jo can live in animal form, you and Hope can’t.”

With everything taken care of, they sent of to who-knows-where with no idea as to when they would return.
