Dante's P.O.V.
"It's a bit chilly out here." I pulled my pitch black cloak closer to me as I continued walking. "This is where Adrian told us to go, walk north until we see a Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet, then we go inside and say: The Devil's head was laid to rest, deep inside the valley of death." Ember said. The orange haired girl sighed and pulled her cloak closer to her. "But why did it have to be so cold?" "Well assassin's should be able to withstand any type of weather, this must be training of some sort." I said smiling and walking closer to Ember, "Judging by how you're complaining, this means I'm already beating you." A pink tint graced itself over Embers cheeks. "Shut up." she hissed. I smirked, "Look there is the outlet." Ember and I dashed towards it and barged inside, no one was inside except an old man who looked like he would topple over in a slight breeze. "What do you want." he snarled, almost immediately I felt like the sky had fallen on me, I glanced over at Ember and saw she looked shocked by this feeling. "I don't have all day you weaklings, WHAT DO YOU WANT!" I could sense that he was growing impatient. At once Ember and I both exclaimed"The Devil's head was laid to rest, deep inside the valley of death!" The feeling of extreme weight disappeared off of my shoulders, the old man picked up a phone that was next to him and said into it, "Paco, two more people for Valle de la Muerte." He then hung up the phone and spoke to Ember and I in a much calmer tone, "Assassin Lord Number 12: Kiri, what are your names?" "My name is Dante, and hers is Ember." I said with a tiny bit of fear in my voice. Kiri continued; "Nice to meet you, the exam will consist of three parts, first we will test your crystal energy to see if it sufficient for the needs of an assassin, then we will seat you inside of a chamber, where we will attach a machine to you and force you to watch a most unpleasant scene, the lower your heart rate after during the length of the scene, the more points your score, and lastly, at this point a cold and harsh look dawned Kiri's face, the remaining combatants will fight in an all out brawl, to determine who passes, the last 4 standing are the winners." "Now go, prepare yourself, for what awaits you is trial and suffering, it may seem short, but 95% of candidates fail at the second stage, Dante, Ember, keep your heads aloof, for the ones who pass will get a reward of their efforts, the ones who fail will be left to choke on the sadness of what they failed to accomplish. Now go, your destiny awaits." At once Ember and I felt the pressure, this time 100times worse, so bad our eyes immediately closed, and this time, when we opened them, we were surrounded by darkness. "This is it, this is where we put all of our hard work and training to the test." Ember's voice was filled with fierce resolve, "this is Valle de la Muerte."
