Dante's P.O.V.
I looked around at all the other beds in the room, most of them had a computer monitor close by that said 'disconnected.' I guess that means they failed and died. "The only other person that passed this exam was Jacob," the woman continued. "He had the best scores, didn't you Jacob?" "Indeed." a teen age sounding voice said. As I turned around this was the first time I got a good look at Jacob. He was a muscular boy, with red hair who wore camo pants and a black t-shirt, he also had these weird wolf fang earrings. "His hear rate was exceptionally low, astounding." "This is why I'm the best." Jacob smirked. "ANYWAYS." The woman said. "Before you start bragging Jacob, you and Dante get a 3 day break from the exam, and unless you get killed in the next phase, you should try getting to know each other, because you'll be working together, with Ember of course." "Cool." I said. "I have an idea," Jacob said, "Let's go to the.......HOT SPRINGS!" I mentally face-palmed remembering what happened the last time. "Sure, let's go find Ember first though." I wouldn't want to go without Ember in the first place. We found Ember outside and told her about the hot springs plan, of course she said okay and went to pack her things. Leaving me with Jacob. "So, Jacob, why do you have such high energy?" Jacob gave me a weird look and replied ; "I trained. Duh." I wanted to slap the grin he was giving me off his face. Suddenly I saw Ember, she was wearing a white T-shirt with her bathing suit on underneath it and a pair of shorts. I turned to Jacob and was about to tell him let's go when I realized something, he was staring at her and..........BLUSHING!?!? "Jacob, her eyes are in her face, not in her chest." Jacob glared at me. "Shut it short boy." This is actually true because he is a head taller than me. "Let us go guys!" I heard Embers cheerful voice behind me. We didn't feel like taking a stroll, so we raced to the hot springs, and us being faster than cars, we almost caused quite a few accidents. I think we even made CNN. "I totally won that." Jacobs voice rang out. "BARELY." I shout- whispered. "We should do the mixed bathing section." Jacob smirked. "Why?" Ember asked. "What fun would it be you being in a completely different room, with people you don't even know, when you could be with us." It was at that moment I realized two things. One: Jacob's a pervert, and two: He must have some hidden plan. "Sure." Ember replied. I also realized Ember must be crazy. But I kept quiet, because I wanted to find out how this would end. We walked into the mixed bathing section and entered the pool. (Obviously I was in my swimming trunks). Ember took took off her shirt and her shorts to reveal her bathing suit and jumped in. Splashing me. Then I realized Jacob wasn't in here. "Where's Jacob?" I asked. "I don't even know, but, let's have some fun Dante." "Fun?" I asked. "Aren't we supposed to just chill out in the water?" Ember rolled her eyes. "No, genius, we can have fun in here." "By?" "Doing this!" Ember exclaimed as she body slammed me. I felt all the air disappear out of my lungs. Then she grabbed me and pulled me underwater. It was then we both felt astounding pressure. "What is Jacob doing that for?" Ember asked. We swam up to the surface and saw Jacob looking sad and dejected. "What's wrong?" Ember asked. "Dante, you lucky man, having those colossal melons all over you." It took me a second to realize what he was talking about. Unfortunately for him Ember realized before me, and slapped him so hard his face was branded with a slap mark and he went flying into the wall. "Dirty perverted little......" Ember muttered. "This brings back a feeling of, nostalgia." I smirked, remembering how I had first met Ember. "Oh don't remind you dweeb." "Do people say dweeb anymore?" "SHUT IT BOY!" She exclaimed. I love being annoying at these moments. "Ouch." Jacob groaned as he stood up. He just jumped into the hot spring and started swimming around like nothing happened. Just to break the tension that had been recently formed, I re-entered the hot spring. Ember glared at me, groaned, and followed. I'm a genius :3. Jacob had calmed down his pervy self now, and we just started talking. He told told us he was from a famous hunter clan called the Silver Hunters. They specialized in hunting wolves, which explains the wolf fang earring he wears. But, apparently his clan betrayed him and is in chaos, and now he wants to become stronger and return to restore order to his clan. "Of course, every strong man needs a strong woman by his side." Jacob said, then smirked. He just earned another slap from Ember. Who got fed up with him and went to the hotel room we were sharing. (Who wants to stay in the Valley of Death for their break.) "See what you've done Jacob." I said. The pervert chuckled and said: "I guess I took it a little too far." "A little?" I chuckled. "You made her leave man, you suck." "Like you could do better." Jacob teased. I actually never thought about Ember like that, I did realize she was pretty and all that, but could I really make Ember my gulp girlfriend? "What's the matter Dante, you look a bit pale." Jacob teased. "Shut up Jacob." I said grabbing my stuff and leaving the hot springs. "I'm heading back the to the hotel room." "I'll see you in like an hour maybe." Jacob said. I wondered what would take him so long, but I ignored it. Oh well, time to go hang out with Ember :DD.
