"Mayor, mabuti't napaniwala po natin ang taong bayan. Landslide pa po tayo! Tama po talaga kayo," tuwang-tuwang sabi ng bagong halal na Bise-Presidente. Katatapos lamang ng kanilang oath-taking ceremony.
"Sinabi ko sa 'yo, Alvin. Magiging matagumpay ang unang hakbang."
Katahimikan.
"T-ta.. tatlong buwan o anim. Kaya po ba talaga natin 'yun? Baka mm-mapahiya lang po tayo," nag-aalinlangang tanong ni Alvin.
"I'll do it." Matipid ngunit seryosong wika ng dating Mayor at ngayo'y bagong Presidente ng kapuluan.
"Paano po?"
"I will kill them. Ako mismo ang uubos sa kanila," prangkang sagot nito.
Katahimikan.
"Pero, Mayor, do we have the right to pass judgements on others?"
"It's not like that, Alvin. What I've always thought is this country is rotting. And those who are rotting deserve to die."
Napakamot ng noo si Alvin.
"Someone... someone has to do it! Someone who can sacrifice his own life and soul, because this country can't continue like this! Is there someone else who could do it? Wala ni isa! Mga duwag sila!"
"But you can, Mayor! In fact, you're the only one who can do it!" pambobola ng Bise-Presidente.
"I'll do it, I'm telling you! I will change this country. You must begin to think of it as a 'tidying up the Philippines', Alvin. This way, it is certain that our country will become a better place. But I need your hands for this thing that's why I chose you," pagmamalaking wika ng Presidente habang binubuksan ang maliit na drawer sa kanyang desk. May kinuha siyang kulay itim na bagay mula dito.
"Paano po, Mayor?"
"Gamit 'to," sabay hagis ng isang kulay itim na notebook.
"Dd.. d-death Note?" nagtatakang bulalas ni VP Alvin.
"Philippines today, the world tomorrow. Then I'll become the god of my own world!" kalmadong wika ng dating Mayor habang nakatingin ang nanlilisik nitong mga mata kay Alvin.
