The Savannah Warrior Horse
- On the continent of Africa
Down in the plains,
A herd of Zebra run
Fleeing the great Lion's mane.
- But not all of them are frightened
No, only just some.
But there is one horse,
Whose heart is the Warrior's Drum.
- This is the herd's Stallion
The best of the best.
He stops running and turns,
To fight the Lion, yes.
- He paws at the ground
He tosses his striped head
And he bellows out his challenge;
The fight will now commence.
- The Lion attacks first
Going straight for the neck,
The horse rears up,
And kicks the beast of his breath.
- The cat lies winded
And seems to retreat,
But he's not done yet;
He has tasted the meat.
- He slips behind and jumps,
Landing on the Stallion's neck
And the horse begins to buck
Like in a rodeo contest.
- On and on they go
Neither one willing to be beat.
Until the Lion is thrown clear,
But like a cat, he lands on his feet.
- This time the Zebra charges
Attacking the beast with great speed,
Pounding away with sharp hooves,
And stabbing out with his teeth.
- The fight continues to rage
On and on for an hour.
But now the Lion falters,
For he has seen the Stallion's power.
- With one final stab
Of a well placed kick,
The Lion gives up
And decides to split.
- The Stallion rises up
Standing on his strong back feet,
And he bellows his victory
For the whole world to see.
- The black and white Zebra
The Savannah Warrior Horse.
Will he live on forever?
The answer is "Of Course!"
