"I can't, I'm sorry." I said for the third time to Jax, "I've got work."

I could hear him whine over the phone. "Ditch it." he said.

I scoffed, "So Oliver can fire me? No, thank you."

"Come on, what harm would a couple of hours do? The movie won't take longer than that."

I sighed, "Jax, I told you I really want to. But I can't. We're already short on staff here."

Jax sighed defeatedly, "Oh, okay..."

I smile softly, "But we can always catch the night show."

"We can?" Jax asked, seeming as excited as a five year old, causing me to laugh out loud.

"Why not? Pick me up at 8."

"I'll be there." he said and I could practically hear the smirk in his voice.

I replied, "See you later then."

"Yeah, bye." And he hung up.

Just as I slipped the phone back in, Sara walked into the kitchen. "Sup? Who were you talking to?"

"Just Jax." I replied.

"And?" she wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.

I rolled my eyes, "Asked me out for a movie maybe?"

She squealed I rolled my eyes again, "You're going so right, girl."

"Forget about me and Jax. How are Zac and you?" I changed the subject.

At the mention of Zac, Sara's face immediately fell and for a minute I wished I could take back my words because she looked genuinely sad.

"Sara?" I asked, concern evident in my voice, "What's the matter?"

"It's nothing really..." she said evasively.

I scoffed, "Nice try. Tell me the truth."

She sighed, "Kat, I just don't know... Zac has been weird lately."

"Weird. As in?"

"He....seems distant. Doesn't answer my question, seems to avoid me all the time and I just don't know what the matter is with him! I caught him sneaking out after work without me yesterday. He always drops me home!"

"Hmm...So in short, he's being a jerk." I said.

"No! I didn't say that..."

I rolled my eyes, "Stop defending him. What you need to do is confront him."

"Confront him about what exactly?" Sara questioned.

"I don't know, maybe about why he's been treating you like crap?" I snapped.

Sara looked down at her feet. I sighed, "Look, Sara. Just talk to him and maybe everything will be okay. I'm not good at giving relationship advice but this is general advice. Talk to him."

She exhaled deeply. "Okay." she replied in a meek voice and I rolled my eyes.

"And I need to talk to Jax about something." I said, more to myself than to Sara.

"About what?" Sara asked.

"Was it just me or were he and Zac both behaving weird around each other when they met?" I asked.

Sara blinked a couple of times, as if thinking, "They were, now that you mention it."

"It was almost as if they knew each other...." I pondered, "In some shady manner."
