"Warren , we have been driving for hours along this river bank . It's hot &' we haven't came along any type of community or humanity in the last twenty four hours . can we please at least cool off for a few minutes by the water ?" Doc asked with a sigh , sweat pouring from his forehead . The rest of us nodded in agreement , hoping she would allow it . Warren stayed quite for a second &' then finally agreed with us , because it was obvious that her and Vasquez were also worn out . I looked over at 10k , and smiled . I've had a crush on him for a while and I'm sure he likes me too , we just haven't clarified it other than flirting . I was lost in my thoughts , thinking of 10k when the truck came to a halt . "Come on , Abby ." 10k said , smiling . I hopped out of the truck , falling 10k &' the rest of the group , keeping my gun in reach , just in case I spotted a z . Doc headed straight to the water , jumping in &' washing his face . Warren &' Vasquez wiped the sweat off of one another with water , Addy walked over and sat her feet in the water , while Mack collected water in his &' Addy's water bottles . 10k was standing by himself , watching the water . I decided to get a little playful . I quietly snuck up behind him , and pushed him in the water . With a large splash , he was coming back up &' I was running . The group laughed . Mack picked Addy up &' threw her in the water . Doc splashed Mack . Warren pushed Vasquez in . I was paying attention to all of the exciting before realizing that 10k wasn't in the water anymore . Before I could turn around &' check the other direction , I was thrown over a shoulder and was thrown into the water . Once I came up to the surface , I saw 10k standing in front of me laughing . "You're an ass." I said , laughing , and easily splashing him with water . Then that escalated into a water fight . We were all standing in a circle , splashing one another with water &' laughing . It was hard to have a good time during the apocalypse , but when we found a good time , it was good . We were still laughing , when it actually started raining . I don't think we would have noticed if we hadn't have heard the thunder . We all stopped . "Alright guys , back to the truck . Time to hit the road ." Warren said . We all climbed back into the truck , but this time I climbed into the bed of the truck with 10k . He smiled , confused because I never get back here with him . I took a blanket that I had found at an old store &' put it over 10k's head and my own to keep us from getting sick . We sat under the blanket for a while in silence before I finally grew a mighty pair of balls , grabbed his face , and kissed him . He was confused , obviously , but didn't pull away . After a minute , I pulled away , hoping to not ruin anything . "What was that for ?" He asked , biting his lip . "I like you ." I said . He smiled , and before I knew it , his lips were attached to mine again . "I like you too , Abby ." He said , after pulling away .
