Chapter Ten: The Damage Has Been Done

Napailing-iling na lamang ako sa ginawa ko. I let myself take over with this. Ni hindi ako nag-isip ng consequences sa naging action ko. Fighting those three guys was a wrong move, I know. But it's already done. I couldn't take it back. It is very irreversible.

Tiningnan ko ang dalawang taong walang malay na sina Hallow at Fringe. I raised my eyebrow at lumapit sa kanila. At....

Binigyan ko sila ng malakas na tadyak sa tagiliran. Tapos ay malakas kong tinapakan ang tiyan nila. "Mga walang kwenta..." Bulong ko sa sarili ko.

Tinalikuran ko na sila and I started to leave.

Pag-angat ko ng tingin, napatigil ako sa paglalakad when I came face-to-face Trevour's group, Dark Cylinder.

Mukhang kanina pa sila na naririto at napanood nila ang nangyari sa aming apat base na rin sa posisyon nila. Ngumiti ako para hindi mapaghalataan sa nangyari kanina.

"Oh, nandito pala kayo? Nakita niyo?" Nagpakaboses inosente ako. That's Jade Michelle Sandig. The innocent.

Humakbang papunta sa akin si Trevour and now I was facing him, few inches away from me. He looked at my behind then at me. "Did you beat them?" He asked coldly.

"Uh-huh." Sagot ko. I have to be honest here. Kasi nakita nila kung paano ko pinatulog yung dalawang bugok na naririto. If I will lie, parang walang kwenta na rin ang gusto kong paglaban sa kanila. "Is there any problem that I beat them?"

Trevour narrowed his eyes. "How?"

I shrugged. "I don't know. It's just that they are too weak for me. Ang dali nga nilang matalo eh." Then I suppressed a giggle which made me want to vomit. Well, I have to bear with it. Kailangan kong um-acting. "Do you think they are strong?"

He gave me a disbelief look. I smirked mentally. That's right, Trevour. Know how to show your emotions. I want to see how your emotions withdraw regarding to this action I had done.

"Who are you really? And why are you doing this? Since you arrived in our university, you disorganized everything. You ruined the peacefulness. You ruined the usual things we did. You became a threat to us. And you beat my fellows." Tumingin siya doon sa walang malay na sina Fringe at Hallow tapos ibinalik niya ang tingin sa akin. Then he stepped forward. "Who are you, Ms. Sandig?" His eyes turned emotionless. "Why are you really doing this?"

Tinitigan ko siya sa mga mata niya bago ako sumagot. "I'm Jade Michelle Sandig. I am here to stop the evil deeds like bullying you were doing to other unaware students. I don't care if I am a threat to you and to all other students. As long as I'm here, I'm ready to stop you all." Pinalamig ko ang boses ko.

I wasn't shocked when he flashed a creepy smile tapos ay pinamulsa niya ang dalawang kamay niya sa bulsa ng pantalon niya. "You're going to stop us? You really are so amusing, Ms. Sandig. How, huh? How will you stop us? We're a gangsters and we're not just... a somebody."

I cocked my head from side to side and I crossed my arms. "I know that three-fourth of the population of this school, Phaëthon University, are gangsters. And according to my research, lahat ng mga hindi kasamahan niyo ang binu-bully niyo. And you're the ringleader and you can control everything in this school."

I stood straight to remain my composure.

"I won't allow it. I will never allow it. Hindi ako papayag na ganito lang ang magiging takbo ng Phaëthon University. Hindi!" Malamig na sabi ko.

"You're not the owner of this school. And how come you act as if you owned it?"

I simply clenched my hand at hindi sumagot sa tanong niya. I mustn't answer him. Kapag sinabi kong ako ang may-ari, malalaman nila na buhay ako.

I just narrowed my eyes at him. "Even if I'm not the owner, I will do my best to stop what you're doing."

He smirked. "Quite amusing. You're so brave. I'm impressed, Ms. Sandig. How will you stop us? Nag-iisa ka lang. Who will help you?"

I closed my eyes and smiled from ear to ear then I opened it to look at Trevour. "Adam Trevour Monteverde, you don't know anything about me. Wag mo akong tanungin kung sino ang tutulong sa akin para patigilin kayo. I have some ways. I have connections. Don't underestimate me, Mr. Monteverde. Dahil magugulat ka kapag nalaman mo kung sino ako."

Matagal bago siya sumagot. "Are you looking for a war, Jade Michelle Sandig?"

I nodded. "I am. Sinimulan ko na kaya ako rin ang tatapos. So why bring it on, right?" I smiled.

He shook his head in disbelief. "You don't know what are you asking, Ms. Sandig. You're just alone and have no weapons to fight with us. Tell me, are you a gangster too? Do you have a group where you belong? Tell me."

I chuckled. "So interesado ka na pala sa akin, Mr. Monteverde. Nakaka-flattered naman." Tapos ay nagseryoso na ako. "I don't have a group where I belong. Let's just say I am a solo player temporarily. Me versus all your batallion. Kahit mag-isa lang ako, kaya ko kayong talunin." I flashed a smirk.

Natahimik siya and then after a moment of silence, he laughed creepily. Tapos ay napailing-iling na siya. "This is useless talking with you. There's a lot of important things to do than to talk with you. Besides...."

I butted in. "Ang dami na nating napag-usapan at ngayon mo lang na-realize na useless ang pakikipag-usap sa akin? Wow! How fascinating!" I said sarcastically.

He narrowed his eyes at me. "Where did you pulled out your confidence to talk back with me? And why are you not afraid with me?" He asked, emotionless.

I came closer to him and placed my hands on his shoulders. He flinched, I smirked. Nilapit ko ang mukha ko sa kanya. "Simple, Mr. Monteverde. I have an answer for that. Simple lang naman ang sagot diyan, hindi ka mukhang nakakatakot para sa akin. You have no power to fret me. For me, you're just a nobody."

Lumayo na ako sa kanya and backed away. Tumalikod na ako at naglakad paalis. I left him speechless.

Naglakad ako papunta sa madilim na part ng university. Marami akong trabaho na gagawin. I agreed to have a war and I have to face the consequences of my actions.

Kinalaban ko na si Silver Soul. Wala ng bawian ito.

For him, the conversation we had little while ago is useless, negligible, no value, worthless and unimportant.

But for me, that is very essential and necessary.

I have to expect na isa na talaga akong malaking threat. And maybe, baka umuwi sa Pilipinas ang mga colleagues ko na grupo kong matagal na akong nagtatago sa kanila ang Secret Sorcery. Baka may mag-report sa kanila.

I know them. Kahit naka-disguise ako, they will notice me. I trained them kaya malalaman nila kung sino ang kaharap nila. That is difficult to escape just in case they are here.

But first, I have a mission tonight. I have to care about it.
