Travis and Katie- a love story

Nightmares

KATIES POV

Nothing exciting happened for a few days. Same old, same old. But of course, I'm a demigod. Which means....nightmares. I crawled into bed and fell asleep.

DREAM

A hellhound got into camp somehow. Campers were rushing to try and kill it. Including me and Travis.  Most of my friends lay on the ground, wounded but not dead. It leaps for me but Travis jumped in front of it and the hellhound disintegrates. But not without a price. Travis lays there dead. And he died for me.   I kneel over him crying. "No Travis, no no please no you can't die on me! I-I love you! PLEASE Travis wake up." But it was too late. He was gone.

END OF DREAM

I wake up screaming. Thank the gods that the head counselor gets their own room, so no one heard me. Is Travis really dead!? I pulled on my sweatshirt (You'd be surprised how cold it gets at nights in the summer) over my pj shirt and ran to the Hermes cabin at 2 in the morning. I tiptoed in, careful not to wake up any other kid, and opened the door to Travis's room. Fortunately, Conner had a sleepover with some kid at the Apollo cabin, so he wasn't here. I shut the door behind me. Tears are still streaming down my face. "Travis?" I whispered. He woke up and then comprehended what was going on. "Katie? Gods are you ok!?"

I sighed of relief. It was just a dream. "No," I started crying, "I-I had a dream, y-you were de-dea.." but I couldn't get the words out.  "Shh, it's ok Katie, I'm here." He hugged me, "Want to sleep here tonight?" I nodded. "I'll sleep on the floor, you can have my bed," he said. I shook my head, "No, no Travis. I'll sleep on the floor, I intruded your room, I'm sorry," I muttered. "Hades no, I won't let you sleep on the floor, how about... want to share my bed?" he asked. I blushed, "sure, and Travis?"      "Yeah Katie Kat?"

"Thanks."

"Anytime, Katie Kat. Anytime."

TRAVIS POV

I'm glad Katie is ok. I'm even more glad we get to share my bed. *wink wink*

I covered her with the blanket then crawled into bed. She was on the outside, I was on the inside. She snuggled close to me then fell asleep. Gods she was adorable. Then she started kicking and muttering things like "no, no please! Travis! wake up!" and crying. I wrapped my arms around her. "it's ok, I'm here Katie Kat," I whispered in her ear. She stopped, relaxed and fell back asleep.

I woke up with my arms still wrapped around her. She was laying on me and I was hugging her from the back. I loved it. Because there were no activities today, I didn't wake her up. Then Conner walked in. Great. He stood there in shock, then realized who it was and his eyes grew wide and he grinned. "Shh! She had a rough night last night." I commanded. He gave me a thumbs up and started taking pictures. "Uggggh!" I said and buried my face into Katie, hiding from the camera. She woke up then realized where she was and what was happening. She started yelling at Conner, who was laughing, and then ran out of the room back to her cabin. "Bro, you had to ruin a perfectly good moment!?"

"Sorry, bro, it's business."

"My business.." I muttered then put a shirt and some real pants on.

I walked out of the cabin and the sun hit my eyes and I squinted.

Percy and Jason ran by and Percy yelled, "Hey! Remember next week's the 15th!" at me.

YES!  I thought. Truth or Dare day.
