In honor of Star Wars Day, here is the next chapter!

The next day

Kanan jerked awake to see Chopper poking his leg.

"What do you have against sleep?" He hissed.

"Baugh, Baugh, Baugh, Baugh,Baugh, Baugh, Baugh!" Chopper beeped in fear. (Ezra's not in bed, I can't find him anywhere!)

"I know where he is Chop, don't worry," the man said softly.

The droid beeped and left the room. Kanan turned back over to see said child snuggled between him and Hera. He had a nightmare late last night and called Kanan immediately. The man not refusing his son comfort went into his room and had come back with the boy clinging to him. Running his fingers through Ezra's hair, Kanan went back to sleep.

Hera POV

I woke up to see my two loves curled up sleeping soundly. Reaching over I  kissed my son's temple and Kanan on the lips.

"I'll take more of that," he whispered.

"With your son in the same bed?" I said watching his face.

Kanan pouted but held the boy tighter to his chest.

"We need to go on a supply run this morning," I said getting up.

"Didn't we just go on one?" Kanan complained.

"Yes, but I'm talking about getting things for Sabine," I told him grabbing my clothes.

Kanan rolled back over faking sleep. He hated shopping trips.

"And for Ezra."

"Why?"

"Because he is growing and I would like to stay ahead of his growth spurts," I commented glancing at his back.

"Which is why I married you, you keep up with what I don't think about until he needs it," Kanan snarked while pointing towards the ceiling.

If it wasn't for the fact Ezra was sleeping, I would have punched Kanan, hard.

"Caleb!" I hissed at him.

Kanan's shoulders slumped.

"Yes, Dear," he said defeated.

"Good boy, now get up, and get dressed,"  I smiled and went into the bathroom to change.

NPOV

Kanan stared down at the innocent face of his boy.

"Oh EJ, we are quite lucky huh?" He whispered kissing his forehead.

Ezra smiled in his sleep snuggling closer to him.

"Yeah, I believe we are."

In town

They looked like an ordinary family out on shopping trip. Kanan carried Ezra who was sound asleep and Sabine trotted nervously at Hera's side.

"Hera! How much longer?" Kanan complained for the umpteenth time.

"Honestly Kanan, Ezra is behaving better than you," she said turning to glare at the man.

"But he's asleep," he countered nervous under the glare.

"Still, I don't hear him complaining. Honestly how did you two ever get along in the market?"

"We didn't, I usually went after he was asleep or he went once he was old enough," Kanan said shifting the boy's weight.

Hera shook her head and turned back to the small girl at her side.

"Boys," she muttered ushering Sabine along.

"Kanan doesn't like shopping does he?" Sabine asked as they stopped at a paint booth.

"No," Hera chuckled. "Believe me, he would rather deal with a hyped up Ezra than go clothes shopping."

A snort was all they heard before Kanan walked past them muttering under his breath.

"How about we meet at the park," he asked.

"Fine but we still need to get some boots for him," Hera responded.

"I can do that another time, see you girls later," he waved and walked away quickly.

"What was that?" Sabine asked confused.

"That was Kanan running away," Hera shook her head while putting an arm around her shoulders.

"Is it always going to be like this?" Sabine asked eyeing the pilot.

"Depends," Hera watching the two disappear.

"On what?"

"I'll let you know when I figure that out," Hera chuckled before they moved on.

Kanan sighed in relief as they made it to the park. Children of all ages ran around playing while under their parent's careful eyes. Kanan sat down on a bench and smiled remembering when times had been simpler. He looked down at the boy to see him still sound asleep.

"That must have been one heck of a dream," he thought closing his eyes and enjoying the warm sunshine.

A short while later a disturbance in the force woke him from his nap. Ezra squirmed waking him fully.

"What's wrong Bud?" Kanan asked patting his back in comfort.

The boy shivered trying to get closer than he already was.

"EJ, what is it?" Kanan asked sitting up.

"Cold," he whispered.

Kanan looked around and saw what had his son so upset. A tall grey creature was walking through the park his eyes glancing around.

'Uh oh,' he thought. 'Time to go.'

Kanan got up and went to leave when he heard a saber igniting.

"Honestly how does the Empire keep missing your kind?" A smooth voice asked.

Kanan could feel the chill in the air as he turned to face the creature.

"I don't know what you are talking about?" Kanan replied holding the boy closer.

"A master and apprentice, how wonderful," he said pointing the saber at them.

Kanan growled protectively. He couldn't fight off this guy with Ezra and other children so close. So instead he chose to do something else. Run.

May the Fourth be with you!
