Hello everyone! I am so thrilled all of you are enjoying my work. You have no idea how much it means to me. Thank you for all of your kind reviews. Without further wait please enjoy the next chapter.
Kanan POV
By the time the Ghost got to our location Ezra was asleep. I picked him up and settled him into my lap so I could reattach the ship.
"So how did it go?" Hera's voice came over the comm.
"Meet me in my room," was all I said.
Ezra moaned softly as I stood up.
"Go back to sleep, we're home," I told him.
I left the Phantom and went to my room ignoring the looks Zeb and Sabine gave us.
"Ezra," Hera gasped as I entered.
"He's fine, just asleep," I said laying him down.
"What happened?" She asked sitting down next to him.
I sighed this was going to be a long night.

Kanan explained the whole ordeal to Hera while pacing.
"Kanan will he be alright?" The woman asked stroking the boy's bangs.
"After some sleep but I'm worried. Hera I was only a padawan for a short time. When this kind of stuff happened the council would take care of it. That was it," Kanan sighed sitting down on his meditation chair.
"I don't know what to do except meditate on it," he said after a few minutes. "I think theres a temple here on Lothal."
"A temple? As in sending him on a trial?" Hera asked.
"Yeah, it's a big risk but I need to know what's going on," he said getting up and walking over to the bed. " I promised him that I would always look out for him and be there when he needed me. Since he's gotten older it feels like I keep failing him. OW Hera!" He yelped as his wife whacked him on the head.
Hera POV
I couldn't believe it. The man whom I have seen taken everything throw at him and more just protect his son is saying he failed. Oh no I don't think so. I do what I have always done to knock some sense into him, I knock him upside the head.
"You listen to me Kanan Jarrus. You have not failed your son. You didn't give up when the things got tough, you kept going. You kept Ezra safe and both of you came back home. A little worn out but safe. I would call that a success," Hera growled.
Kanan knelt down so he was eye level with Ezra.
"No the success would be when I adopted him. The success would be when I got him through his first night without killing him, when he called me Papa for the first time or when he learned to walk. But letting him connect to the dark side that's when I failed him."
NPOV
Hera watched him lean over and kiss the kid's forehead, Ezra sighing in content. Kanan rested his forehead against Ezra's, he needed to mediate.
Several weeks later.
Ezra snuck out of his room and over to Sabine's.
"Sabi," he knocked lightly three times.
"You ready?" She asked opening the door.
"Yup," the preteen smirked.
Without another word the two went into the cargo bay and into the early morning hours.
