Hello everyone. I do apologize if these chapters seemed a little rushed. I wanted to get this book done before the wedding. I do hope you enjoy the chapter.

Kanan POV

I battled the Inquisitor for several minutes before he finally made a mistake. He backed into the control panel and had to dodge in order to avoid my blade. I pushed him to the edge of the walkway ready to end this.

"After everything you have done to my family, I am really going to enjoy this," I snarled.

"Revenge isn't the Jedi way," he said only making me angrier.

"I'm not a Jedi, just an overprotective father. The force is stronger than you think it is," I said stabbing the two blades in-between the circular handle. "Let me show you how strong it is."

With a flick of my wrists his lightsaber split apart falling into the engine below. The repercussions of it made both of us lose our balance. The Inquisitor fell over grabbing onto the walkway.

"Not what I had in mind but this will do," I said holding the blades to his neck.

"This will not stop the war," he ground out.

More explosions sounded as the engine continued to blow. I deactivated the lightsabers and hung them on my belt.

"There are far more things worse than death," he said and let go.

I stared in horror as he fell into flames and the explosion that soon followed. I couldn't believe it after two weeks of pure torture it was finally over. How wrong I was. I looked over to Ezra's limp body. I stretched into the force and I felt nothing.

"Ezra!" I called hoping that it was my exhaustion keeping me from feeling my boy's presence but he didn't respond.

I jumped onto the platform only to be knocked to my knees from an explosion. I quickly crawled over to him. Something wasn't right. His arm and neck were at odd angles and his chest wasn't moving.

"Ezra?" I whispered gathering my son into my arms as gently as I could.

Nothing.

"Ezra?... EJ?... Baby Boy? Come on wake up, wake up. This isn't funny," I said shaking him gently tears coming to my eyes with each of his nicknames.

"Ezra Jarrus you wake up right now!" I ordered finally letting the tears fall.

Nothing, not even a twitch.

"Oh...no, no Baby please. Please I can't lose you too. Ezra," I whimpered kissing his forehead.

"Please Ezra! No this has to be a dream! This has to be a dream! Ezra!" I cried cradling Ezra to me knowing deep down that this wasn't a dream and Ezra was gone.

"Ezra where are you? Do you have Kanan?" Hera's voice broke through my sobs.

I shakily grabbed his comm and brought it up.

"H..Hera go on, we'll be right behind you," I said steeling my voice.

"Kanan? Love where's..."

"No time go!" I ordered shutting down the link and returned my gaze to my precious son.

He hadn't move and it only made my heart hurt more.

"Come on Baby, it's ok I got you. I'll take you home and take care of you," I whispered the same words that I had uttered twelve years ago.

On shaking legs I stood up and jumped back onto the platform and ran for the loading bay.

This part was really hard to write but I hope you enjoyed.
