Chapter 10: More Than One

I woke up to the sun blinding my eyes. I put my hand over my eyes hoping that the blinds would magically close by themselves. To my amazement they did. I looked just to make sure it wasn't a ghost or something. It was Cap coming to the rescue.

"Morning, Cap," I said putting my hand down on the bed and pushed up into a sitting position.

"Morning, um... I was wondering if you knew were your dad was. We need to talk."

"Is this about the Sokovia Accords?" He gave me a look that confirmed my assumption. "Did I make things worse with what I did?" Again he gave me the same look but more somber then before. "I'm sorry."

"I know that you mind wasn't right so don't feel bad about it." He walked towards the open door and stepped out. He turned around to start closing the door. "Oh Pietro and Carol are in the training room waiting for you." He closed the door.

"Hey, Cap," I said a little louder and hoped he didn't walk away yet. He opened the door a little and popped his head in.

"Yes."

"My dad is working on his suits. Oh and please don't be too hard on the whole Sokovia Accords thing. I know it may seem like my dad is all about himself but that's not true. He thinks he is doing good for the people and you shouldn't fight him for that." Cap just nodded his head and left the room. I have a feeling that a civil war is brewing within the team.

"Morning, Nicole, how was your sleep," Pietro asked with a warming smile on his face as soon as I walked in. I think he was making fun of me a little bit, he has to know I hate mornings.

"I had a wonderful sleep. Anyway what are you doing here Carol."

"I need to talk to you about everything."

"Well everyone does." She motioned me over to the benches at the furthest wall. I walked over and we all sat down.

"So I came to Chicago with you because S.W.O.R.D. sent me on a mission and before you say anything yes I did lie to you. I asked Wanda on this mission because she was the best option. The mission was about some tech that was taking control of powered people. S.W.O.R.D. didn't know if this was alien or hydra or anything else. That was what I was tasked to find out. I also needed to grab the tech itself so S.W.O.R.D. could test it. I did succeed but it kinda backfired. Wanda and I were captured and given this tech and it took over our mines. Then I gave it to you and Wanda did also. I went to S.W.O.R.D. to see if they could take it off. They figured away and Wanda and I are free of the tech. We tried with you but it almost killed you."

"Does that mean that I can never have this thing off."

"For now there is nothing we can do without killing you."

"And you said that it takes over powered people but I'm not powered."

"Yes, I think that that is the reason that it will kill you if we remove it. No one knows how it attached to you or how it gave you that electric power. You are just a huge unknown valuable in all of this."

"Is this supposed to be good or bad news?" I wasn't trying to sound irritated but I think it was coming out that way.

"That's for you to decide. One good thing, it did give you powers. You have always wished for them, remember." This was true, I mean who doesn't want some sort of powers. I even tried fish pills because of the whole Inhuman thing hoping I would get powers. It didn't work, of course, but it didn't stop me from wishing.

"I guess you are right." Carol then stood up and started walking towards the door. "Oh you not going to stay and watch me kick Pietro's butt." She just laughed and walked out probably with a huge smile on her face.
