Chapter 11

"The Unexpected Arrival"

The next day, Conan and Haibara went to school. It was Friday so the two planned to investigate the given area by kid. They were walking home silently before Ayumi spoke.

"Conan-kun, what happened to Ran-neechan? I haven't seen her in a while" Ayumi asked

"Well..." He looked at Haibara for support and Haibara simply said

"She's at her mother's house" She said coldly.

"Is that so..." Ayumi replied like she's not buying the Idea

"Hey guys! Did you watched Kamen Yaiba yesterday?" Mitsuhiko cut the sad atmosphere

"It was awesome!" Genta said.

"He defeated those guys with ease!!" Ayumi said while copying Yaiba's punches.

Conan started to reduce his speed. Until the others are in front of him. Haibara joined him. There was a moment of silence until Haibara asked,

"Why did you knocked me down?" Haibara asked coldly.

"Kid wont tell us the location of Ran unless you wouldn't hear it" Conan explained.

"If he doesn't want me to hear the location why did he asked me to come?" Haibara said trying not to let the others overhear her statement "As much as I want to be mad at you both, But I couldn't. Now let's tke a look to that place"

"Hey Genta, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko" Conan called out "We'll go somewhere you guys head home first"

"Where?" Asked Genta

"I'll buy something for our dinner. Since Ran-neechan is not around. And I'll ask Haibara to pick them out for me" Conan explained. "See you tomorrow"

Before they could react, Conan grabbed Haibara's wrist and started running. The others tried to catch them but Conan and Haibara crossed the road and the walk sign turned red.

"Hmp. Going off somewhere without us again" Ayumi said grumpily.

"It's like they're getting rid of us" Genta said coldly.

"It's not like they're secret lovers and dating silently" Mitsuhiko tried to defend

Ayumi just dropped the subject and walked away slowly.

"Let's go Mitsuhiko. I'm getting hungry, it's getting dark anyways" Genta said.

Genta and Mitsuhiko catched up with Ayumi.

Genta bought an iceream before they said their goodbyes.

Meanwhile at the store.....

"That's 1,000 yen" The cashier said.

Conan handed her the exact money and took the plastic bag. As soon as they got the bag, they walked strait to the abandoned building where Kid saw Ran.

While wallking Haibara started to talk

"We must upgrade those shoes and your Tranquilizer watch" She said.
