Niall Welsh : ) POV
"It's happening again." Zoey announced and my heart's pace quickened. I backed up into the window then out of this damn school that had caused be more problems then anyone would have thought was possible. The stars twinkled above me as I floated around in the air trying to clear my mind from what Zoey had just told me. Anyone else wouldn't have understood what it had meant but I did. This time I wouldn't sit back and watch other people killed for a stupid goal. Their triumph would be our world as we know it's downfall. Who would be next? I wondered. The ground that I was now above was a field with tiny rocks in it. I got closer and saw that they were the headstones from my mates from kindergarten. My landing was near the headstone of my old best friend Grant who would forever be a child, I walked around a little more and found Lily's headstone. I could feel the tears dripping down my face and I knew it was time for me to leave this hallowed place. A hand touched my shoulder as I reentered the air.
"Are you okay?" Zoey whispered as her hand found my hand.
"Yeah. I will be alright." I mumbled as she squeezed my hand.
"What are we going to do?" Zoey wondered as the wind ruffled her hair. She smiled as she reached up with her empty hand to push the hair out of her face. I looked down at our hands feeling my face turn red. Her hand was so tiny and my hand was the right size to hold hers. I noticed that she was dressed in her pajama's since her shirt was tye dye and she was wearing shorts.
"Your answer is?" Zoey whined impatiently as she grabbed my other hand forcing me to look her right in the gorgeous brown eyes.
"We should wait for the person to be returned. Maybe they stopped taking people for experiments."
"But Dylan........."
"Zoey we should go back to our rooms. We can't fix this problem were only kids." I told her quietly as she drops my hand.
"I thought you could help me, but I WAS WRONG." Zoey flew back to the building and slipped into a window. I groaned to myself and floated slowly back to my room.
Why are girls so hard to understand? You put yourself out there then BAM, the girl just "slaps" you in the face and its all over. Okay. Okay. Connall settled down. Wait there was something I needed to ..... What was it? Oh crap I forgot to report to Maria to give her the rundown off Zoey's activities and abilities. Is there still time, probably not since its like 3 am. I am just going to go sleep when I reach my room .
Max's snoring awakened me from my chaotic thoughts. The room is full of darkness and I easily slip into bed hoping to wake up when it was time for breakfast.
Before I can even open my eyes pain seized me and I gritted my teeth trying to prevent myself from yelping in pain. I opened both my eyes trying to find the culprit who had thrown the thing that hit me in the face. On the floor next to my bed lay a full size basketball and a guilty looking Sam. I sighed then got up and threw the basketball at him. As I was lying on my bed thinking about why Zoey acted so crazy last night I heard a scream. I sat up in record time as I looked up to see four scared boys, wait what? There should only be three, 1. Max 2. Jacques 3. Sam. Who is the other guy and how the hell is he floating in mid air. Could it be the guy who disappeared on our first day here? What was his name Ryan.........
"What's wrong with me?" The floating boy moaned he looked more like a ghost than a human. His brown hair was sticking out at all angles and his body was very pale. Electricity shot out off him causing all the other boys to back up. He disappeared out off sight every few seconds proving how he got in here with out anyone noticing. I put up a brave face then went over there to approach him, the mutated boy.
