"What's a pretty girl like you doing in a place like this?"
In less than two seconds, she had struck him in the face and stomach and had a dagger at his neck in seconds. Adam was going to say a witty remark, that would have probably gotten him killed, but she covered his mouth.
"Shut up!" She whispered. "How the hell did you find me?" Said Ravager.
"How the hell did you get here?" She asked.
"I'm not sure. Where is 'here'?"
Adam examined his surroundings. The walls were all painted white, with a maze of enclosed hallways. Ravager and Burnout were at a corner, next to an unconscious (hopefully) guard.
She took the knife of his neck.
"You ever heard of the Light?" She asked.
"Uh-huh. Don't tell me this headquarters or something."
"Bingo. Now move!"
She pulled him into a storage room as a guard came round the corner.
"Damn!" The guard said. "Rob, are you okay?"
Ravager's eyes widened. She shot him a look like, this is all your fault. Adam gestured that in three seconds, they would take him out. 3....2....1. They burst out of the storage room and Adam took out the man's legs with a swift kick, and Ravager hit him with a flying knee before he could even hit the ground.
"That's not gonna be a fun trip to the dentist." Said Adam.
"Come on. Get both of them into the storage room."
"Why me?"
She shot him the same look she had given him in the closet and he instantly carried the two men into the room. He melted the insides of the lock, so the door couldn't be opened.
"Are you stalking me, or something?" She asked.
"I have no idea how I got here. I was meditating on teleportation and then boom. White hair, blue eyes."
She looked away from him.
"Why are you here?" Adam asked her.
"I have a score to settle with a certain member of the Light. This was supposed to be a recon only mission, but you came along."
"Well I have a score to settle with ALL the members of the Light. So can I tag along?" He pleaded.
She thought about it for a second.
"Fine. But none of that fire and lightning madness. You'll get us both killed."
They maneuvered past guards and cameras, scoping out the whole place. Ravager wanted to hack the security of the place, so they made their way into the security room. It was empty, and Ravager Sat down and started typing on the keyboard.
"Put your hands where I can see them." A voice behind them said. A man with white hair, much like Ravager's, in a ponytail and eye patch. He had a sword drawn, 5 centimetres from Adam's face and other weapons strapped to himself.
"Aye-aye." Said Adam. Ravager elbowed him in the side.
"This is not the time." She whispered to him.
"Deathstroke! The guy who killed Superman? This is getting too exciting." Adam said, again. He tried to contact his team, but they had some sort of signal jamming tech.
"Dad." Spat Ravager.
"Dad?" Adam said, confused.
"Well, Rose. I knew you hated me but I didn't think you were this stupid. Coming here with a fool to die."
"Your name is Rose?" Asked Adam.
"Shut up and fight." She said.
Adam materialized his swords and knocked Deathstroke's sword away from his face. Adam swung at him, but he parried his sword with a dagger he had pulled out. Ravager joined with her own sword. They both engaged him but he was doing well against both of them. He didn't seem flustered or pressured, and seemed to easily block, parry and dodge all their attacks. He headbutt Adam and disarmed Rose and used his forearm to push her neck to the wall.
"You could have been my apprentice. We could have been a family."
"We're not family." She said.
Adam tackled Deathstroke and was about to electrocute him, when he was sucker punched. Hard. He flew threw a wall and landed on the floor.
"Adam!" A voice he knew all to well, growled.
It was The Flash. Not the one from this earth. The one from Adam's dimension. For the first time, in the two days Rose a had known Adam, this was the first time she saw him look scared.
"H..how did you get here?" Stammered Adam.
"Our friends, the Light have helped us immensely. I've come to take you back, stowaway."
Adam fired a blast of fire at him, but he dodged. Adam drew his swords and charged them with electricity, and ran towards the Flash. Adam lunged at him but he ducked behind him and hit him with so many punches at his back, he was knocked out. Rose got up and tried fight, but her father dodged her strikes at hit her with the butt of his swords. She was out cold.
-------------------------------------------------
Adam woke up to see Rose staring at him intensely.
They were in some sort of holding cell. They didn't have their weapons and Adam couldn't use his powers. It must have been because the bars had been reinforced with magic.
"Stop looking at me like that. It's like your eyes are boring a hole into my soul." He said.
"Explain yourself."
"You first. Your name is Rose." Adam looked surprised.
"And..."
"Well, I expected your name to be something like Crusher or The Destroyer or Man Eater."
"You're an idiot."
"You're totally warming up to me."
"Well, explain yourself."
"It's a long story." He said, trying to avoid the question.
"It's not like I'm going anywhere."
So Adam told her everything. About Superman, Ryder, Astrid, his parents, the Team and the Light. Rose listened attentively.
"So, that's me." Said Adam.
Rose made a 'mind blown' gesture.
"Is that why you freaked out when you saw the Flash?" She asked.
He nodded.
"Well, you know my story. How about you?"
She sighed.
"Deathstroke's m'dad. His real name is actually Slade. Slade Wilson."
"Which would make you Rose Wilson."
"Sadly. Since I was young, he's been trying to train me to be this master assassin. His apprentice. At first it sounded cool, but when we started getting jobs for the bad guys and taking out cops and heroes, I couldn't take it anymore. So I ran. He's been chasing me ever since."
"Wow." Said Adam. "Mine's better."
She punched him in the arm.
"So how do we get out of here?" She asked.
"I'm gonna see if the dragons could help me."
He started meditating and in some moments, he found himself in a familiar pitch blackness, with a man and a woman.
"Yes?" The man said.
"You wouldn't happen to know how to disable this magical barrier, would you?"
"Of course we do. This is child's play." Said the man.
"Oh it's good to be back in your body Adam." Said the woman. "Raising Trigon would have been a pain."
"So will you help me?" Asked Adam.
"Fine." Said the Phoenix. "But I see your still prancing around with other people."
"Oh you mean Rose...?"
"Yes her. What happened to the black haired girl? Did you guys break up while we weren't here?" The Phantom asked.
"There was nothing ever going on between Zatanna and I, and there is nothing going on with Rose and I!" Adam huffed.
"You know we've been inside you for years, right? We know more about you than you know about yourself." The Phoenix said.
"Just get us out." Said Adam, as he left their realm.
---------------------------------------
A shockwave emanated from Adam's body. It destroyed the prison.
"So your demon friends came through?" Assumed Rose.
"Yup. Now let's get going."
They got their gear, which was on the counter and started looking for the exit, but they were stopped by Deathstroke and some guards.
"Have some quality father-daughter time. I'll take care of these goons."
Rose drew her sword and attacked her dad. They engaged each other while Adam was taking out the guards.
"He grabbed one of them and bent his arm into an awkward(and most likely painful) position.
"Where's the Flash?" He asked the man, who was screaming in pain.
"Ahgg....he said something about going to find the other one, and then he ran off."
Adam knew he was going for Astrid. He threw the man aside and was about to go and help Rose, when he overheard one of the guards contacting Vandal Savage, the leader of the Light.
"Sir, the headquarters has been compromised."
"Destroy it. Leave no evidence." Said Vandal. The guard pressed a button on his remote and the whole place went red with alarms blaring.
"Self-destruct in 5 seconds."
Rose kicked her father in the face and Adam tackled her and covered her.
3....2....1....
-------------------------------------------
The place was lit up like fireworks. A series of explosions occurred, but Adam tried to absorb the heat to minimize the damage. In the end, the building came down. Adam and Rose climbed out of the rubble.
"Not bad there, Blondie." Said Rose.
"You weren't too bad your..."
Adam knew he had seen it to late. Deathstroke had snuck behind Rose and was about to impale her with a rusty iron pole. Adam barely had enough time to push her out of the way. He was stabbed through the stomach with the pole. Rose and Slade were both surprised, but Rose reacted first and hit him in the nose with the flat of her blade.
"Nice one." Said Adam. He gave her a smile, letting her see his bloody teeth and then he blacked out.
-----------so many line breaks in this one--------
Adam woke up to see Rose looking the other way.
"I'm gonna feel this tomorrow." Said Adam.
"You're a f***ing idiot." She told him.
"Language!" He said.
"Why the hell would you take that hit for me?" She asked.
"We're friends, aren't we?" He replied "Besides, I have a healing factor." He pulled out the pole while writhing in pain.
"Call your Team. Let's get you out of here."
She helped him up and supported him as they walked.
"Do you think I'm gonna need a tetanus shot?" He asked her.
"Adam. You're not well."
