Caspar's POV;
I was new to England, enjoying life and youtube. I was a youtuber and moved from South Africa to London. I didn't really know what i was doing but as my mum used to say 'theres a big world out there casp, take it with both hands'.
I lugged my suit cases up the stairs to my apartment and opened the door. Let me tell you, those stairs were Mount Everest. I started to unpack slowly beginning to become parched. I looked through all my bags, boxes and cases and found not a single tea bag or coffee bean, no energy drinks, no juices. I decided that now was the time to brave it. I was going to go around London to find a cafe.
I did my coat up and pulled it tighter around my neck as it was rather cold.
I spent a good hour and a half looking for a cafe and finally found sanctuary in a old looking cafe called 'Cafe Lewis'.
I walked through the double doors to be greeted with the scent of double chocolate fudge cake, cinnamon buns and hot chocolate. I went over to the counter and looked at all the cakes in transparent and opaque cake cases. I ordered a ice cream milkshake and a slice of chocolate cake. When i had paid the women behind the counter offered to bring it over so i looked around for a place to sit. It was a small cafe, old fashioned but very vintage.
Over in the corner sat a man, a very stressed looking man with his hands running though his hair with pace and anger. I decided to sit on the table next to him, not that i was stalking him or anything.
"Here you go sir" The women from the counter said placing my cake and milkshake down on the table.
"Thank you very much" I handed her a £5 note as a tip.
"Excuse me" The man spoke as the waitress was walking away.
"Please can i have another orange juice" He added.
"Sure thing" The waitresses said.
"I never liked orange juice, not pure orange juice anyway, always gave me heartburn" I said to the man who then looked at me.
"It reminds me of home, my mum used to make it for me, best orange juice around"
"Are you waiting for anyone?" I asked the man who pushed the chair out in front.
He gestured to the seat and i moved into it carrying my cake and milkshake taking a sip.
"Here you go sir" The waitress said again not to me this time but to the man i just joined.
"I'm Caspar" i said to the man.
"Hello Caspar I'm-"
At that moment his phone beeped and he quickly picked it up, his rapidity was shorty followed by a sigh and a hand to the face.
"Whats up?" I interrogated him.
"Im looking for a new place to live, I've only just come back to London and have nowhere to live"
I felt sorry for the man and even though i did not know him felt that i could trust him with everything. i carried on eating my cake and drinking my milkshake when it hit me.
"Why don't you be my roommate?" I said mouth open whilst eating my cake.
"Are you serious?!" the man's face bursted into a huge smile.
"Sure, anything for a mate"
"Thank you so much!"
"It's no problem mate"
We carried on chatting for another hour, swapping numbers and funny stories before the cafe had to close. The man offered me a lift back to what was now our apartment.
"When are you going to move in?" I asked eagerly happy to have a friend in London.
"Theres something i need to do first, maybe a week"
"Ok" i said opening the car door and getting half out before wondering something.
"I never did get your name" i said to him hanging out of his car.
"Joe"
