It was a shoot out. Bullets flew, ricocheting the metallic walls of the hallway. She counted three men. Three huge men in suits. They shot at her full force. She noted that they took turns shooting because even when one of them ran out of ammunition, they still kept firing. It was like a never ending cycle.

On the other end of the hallway, Lauren Jauregui was hiding behind the wall as cover. Her heart was beating erratically and her breath was shallow. There was a piercing pain on her shoulder as blood trickled down her arm. She was almost out of ammunition. Her gun clicked as the barrel and clip emptied. She cursed under her breath as she tossed the gun aside and drew out her spare piece. She checked the clip and let out a strained breath before slapping it back and cocked her gun.

Wait it out, Jauregui. Just a little longer, she thought to herself as she tried to catch her breath.

Lauren rested her head against the wall as she shut her eyes and took a few deep breaths. She opened her eyes when she heard several clicks. That was her window. She raised her gun as she walked out of her cover.

Everything moved slowly. Lauren saw the panic in their eyes as they tried to reload their weapon. She pulled the trigger and shot one of them in the kneecaps. He collapsed on the ground, gripping at his knee in pain.

One down, two to go.

In the corner of her eyes, she saw one man toss his gun away and charge at her. Lauren ducked his attack. She kicked him away with her combat boot. He stumbled back a few steps. Lauren shot him in the leg to keep him from getting back up.

Lauren turned to the last one who had reloaded his weapon and was now aiming it at her head. The barrel of the gun was inches away from her head. Lauren didn't flinch, didn't blink, she didn't show fear. Her emerald green eyes were trained on the man in front of her. The moment she took her eyes off him, she saw him pull the trigger. She felt the adrenaline kick in as she redirected his shot to miss her just by an inch. The two stared at each other for a split second before Lauren disarmed him with one swift move. She knocked him out with a spinning back kick and he landed on the ground with a loud thud.

Lauren panted as she looked around at the three men on the ground. She grabbed the loaded weapon and shoved it in the back of her pants. She let out a huff as she walked out of the storage warehouse casually.

A matte black Ducati motorbike eased into the garage in the base. A brown eyed brunette smiled as she walked towards the bike. Lauren took off her helmet and ran her fingers through her hair before flashing a smile at the brunette as the latter approached her.

"Took you long enough," the brunette said with a smile.

"Hey, watch it, Vives. I got the job done, didn't I?" Lauren pointed out.

Lucy Vives shook her head as she let out a light chuckle. When she got closer, she noticed Lauren's shoulder was bleeding.

"You got shot," Lucy said as she inspected her shoulder.

"Thanks for noticing," said the green eyed girl.

"No exit wound so the bullet's still in there," Lucy said, "We better get you checked out or you'll pass out from the loss of blood or get an infection. Whichever comes first."

"You say the sweetest things," Lauren said sarcastically. Lucy looked up and met the girl's gaze as she gave her a look. Lauren pulled away from her gaze and let out a huff through her nose.

"Alright," she said as she gave in, "Lead the way."

Lauren sat on the operating table patiently as the doctor pulled the bullet out from her shoulder. Lucy sat across the green eyed girl as she watched the doctor stitched her up. The brunette would smile every time the raven haired girl shot an annoyed glare her way. When the doctor was done, he dressed the wound and stepped away for a moment.
